You'll find that EVE involves a great deal of reading and research. E-Uni's website is as good a place as any to start. You can also find recorded classes, etc. there. |

Trust noone in-game unless you are sleeping with them in real life.
It doesn't matter now as (as a newbie) you have nothing worth stealing, but you want to have the right habits established early on. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=318489 - Proposal for a new type of tech 2 Destroyer If you want to mine in highsec, read www.minerbumping.com. |

I would trust the one I'm sleeping with even less.

To contact people in-game:
1. Set your CSPA charge to 0 ISK.
2. Open People and Places (ALT E with the default shortcuts... which I don't have).
3. Type the name, or copy-and-paste (click-and-drag to highlight name, then press CTRL C to copy, and CTRL V to paste) into the search field, and hit the search button.
4. Right -click on the name portrait that comes up to get the context menu (nearly everything in EVE has a right-click context menu - when in doubt, right-click it!).
5. You should be able to figure the rest out.

Thanks again J Posting corp/alliance advertisement is not allowed here so you won't get that many pointers to places to join, but most/all of the people responding to newbies here are fairly nice and trustworthy people in-game. Feel free to contact any of us either via Eve-mail or our various channels for advice and stuff.
In general: if they're asking for money or stuff and you get nothing concrete in return, it is probably a scam.
Welcome and good luck! Rifterlings - newbie-friendly swashbuckling corp ("weflyrifters" in-game channel). Join today! www.rifterlings.com

You don't have to be paranoid. People are going to shoot at your space pixels. Just don't put yourself in a position to lose more than you can afford.
There are lots of friendly players in EvE. Even if they blow up your ship first. |

RvB is NOT a learning corp.
They are new player friendly, but do not teach players other then the hand ls on approach (but dont expect to be tought anything if you arent pro-active yoursel). Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Heh. Just correcting the learning corp part.
RvB IS a great corp if you want to try/learn (basic) PvP in a semi-controlled fashion. I still recommend them to anybody who wants to learn to PvP as one of the options.
Just like I stopped referring BNI from the moment they turned SOV-blob-people. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

RvB is a learning corp, but in a 'lessons learned' sort of way. You fight, you die, and often the guy that killed you will offer advice on what you might have done wrong. I had a blast when I was in it for a while. (with an alt)
