I am pretty sure I addressed most of you claims but let me try again:
Dr Beatrox wrote:claim 1: the communicaitons of op supports that he is either 14 years old or suffers from severe narcissistic pd as an adult No, his communications suggest he is embracing the persona of a narcissitic and sociopathic religious fanatic. What is more likely, that he is some sort of deranged, mentally unwell lunatic whose like to play Eve to get his jollies, or that he is a well-adjusted adult having fun playing the role of a villain in a online role-playing game? Of course, I can't say for sure, but I know where my money lies.
Dr Beatrox wrote: claim 2: players like op promote the mindset amongst carebears that highsec content creation is essentially projected sociopathy
Well then they don't really get the game then. Blowing up spaceships in a game about spaceships would not meet any reasonable definition of sociopathy - if some carebears think that, they don't understand what Eve is about. Eve is not a simulator of some space utopia where everyone works together - it has clearly been described by the developers as a dark place, where players are suppose to compete against each other for power and resources. In that context, doing harm to other players is the point of the game.
And besides, there are many stories former carebears respond to "highsec content creation" positively and join up with these groups. Again, I can't say what the average carebear thinks about such behaviour, but if they think that playing Eve as Eve was designed to be played is sociopathic, then they need to be enlightened, either by words or antimatter.
Dr Beatrox wrote:claim 3: op is a huge puss who despises the notion of losing a ship, so limits his own content severely in the process. the exact claim he makes against the carebears I am pretty sure most successful players at least are adverse to needlessly loosing a ship, so I am not sure that makes him a "puss". But really, he is a professional mercenary with some pro bono "messing with carebear" work on the side, it is his job not to loose ships while make his target's life difficult. He and his group really wouldn't be in business long if they constantly lost ships by throwing them against prepared and stronger opponents now would they? A professional mercenary's business is to be judicious and strike at a time that minimized their loss and maximizes that of their opponents.
I don't even understand how you think he "limits his own content". His killboard seems to be quite full of kills, both in highsec and in lowsec. What content do you think he is missing out on? |

Ha! the brave npc forum alt calls someone a puss, love it.
lol, what you think we should go offering our contracted wartargets duels at the sun? ! seriously, think about that one for a moment.
Oh you mean when he told the newbros (like me) not to engage the nano rlml hac flying ex devil who new their fits and tactics and specifically targeting them, yeah i remember that guy. i remember us getting fleets of us after him failing to catch him so we were rightly told to keep our distance solo.
i also remember nailing his Orthrus to the front of Feyds sacrilege. (look at that frigate eating monster, "yeah guys go and engage in yer ab fit brawlers, no its fine, i didnt want that alliance kill board anyway".).

I am so glad that Eve is a sandbox, allowing for lots of different types of play. Because this is your gaming choice, through my eyes:
Step 1) Spend most of your time probe scanning. Possibly the most tedious and boring interface, despite all of the improvements over the years, available in the game. I spent a few weeks ninja looting when I first started, and the actual ninja loot represented a tidy sum to my noob self. So many times they warp out before the scan is complete. Sooooo frustrating. I've also spent time in a wormhole. So yes, I "get" scanning. *groan*
Step 2) Actually get on grid with one and hope, pray, beg any gods you believe in to PLEASE let this be one of the lower 10% of PVEers in Eve. PLEASE GOD. Let it be one of the coveted lowest-hanging fruits of the low hanging fruit. But no, most simply warp off when they see you land. Some stick around till you turn flashy yellow, then run. Your blog says 1 in 8 actually pulls the trigger. That seems like a generous non-scientific guess. I'd guess more like 1 in 10 if you're lucky.
Step 3) Now that you have scanned someone down, and got them to pull the trigger, you have a SMALL chance that he's got anything worth all this trouble fitted to his ship. VERY small. Which leads us to step 4.
Step 4) Try to collect tears. Again, hoping against hope that this will be one of the rare gems that keeps you going in your mindless endeavor after your brain has turned to mush scanning missioners all night...every night...for months...or years. Maybe, with luck, he'll publicly express himself, in English, in a humorous way. But again, probably not.
Step 5) No real loot, no tears, night gone...again. Nothing to do but strike up a conversation with your victim. Maybe you can talk them into joining your endeavors. But then again, who cares, it's some obscene hour of the night, and maybe this lowest-of-the-low mongoloid idiot is impressed enough with your "skill" that he'll talk to you a while, just to pass the time, while you scan down another 10 missioners, rinsing and repeating. Giving him some ISK for a new ship usually helps oil the social wheels here.
Doing this used to be a thing, when the mechanics were not quite so set against ninjas. There was even a huge group of people doing it called... Suddenly Ninjas. But now, it sucks, which is why Suddenly Ninjas, and what they did, isn't really a thing anymore.
I can see doing this as a stop on the road to better things. For a couple weeks maybe, or even a couple months if someone is easily amused and risk averse. But year after year? Blogging it? No. I can only hope that you, Feyd, and others like you will eventually move on to better and bolder things. Hopefully through your corporate structure you are at least making some ISK from this continual grind. And hopefully that ISK is better than incursions HQs because honestly, there is more excitement grinding HQ sites than doing this. And that's not saying much...at all.
Now this is not a stealth post advocating for consensual eHonor PVP. Oh no dear reader, it is not. Even in activities that most would label consensual PVP, I can promise you, there comes a time when that consent turns into "dear god NO". Sometimes it's when you land on grid and point them. Sometimes it's not till they're bleeding into structure, realize they are going to lose, and try to run for their lives. But sooner or later, consent is a thing of the past. Tears are had. Lots more tears than dead carebears. Loot is had. Lots more loot per hour than scanning down missioners. But most importantly more FUN is had. You just get more FIGHTS which means more RUSH per hour doing FW, or piracy, or similar activities.
I mean sure, there is a chance that you might lose your ship when you hunt game that might shoot back. That guy in the site in the WH could be bait. That incursus in a medium plex might decloak his Falcon. The maller on the gate could be, and probably is, bait. But that's what makes it more fun! It's like the difference between checkers and chess. More closely resembles warfare than a severely handicapped form of highway robbery where you must convince your victim to open fire first.
Feyd... let go of the fear. Fear is the mind killer.
Just as you claim to hope your missioner victims will put down their PVE ship and come with you, I hope that someday you will put down the big red easy carebear killing button and come play Eve with me. Like transitioning from checkers to chess, it's just a better game. Stop grinding and lying to yourself. Stop publicly humiliating yourself in the forums and on your blog. Just stop it.

Nope, it's really not that simple. You really should take time to read it through. I wrote it just for you and yours, in a genuine concern for making the game better. You're playing in one tiny corner of the shallow end of the sandbox. I really WANT to see you guys move forward. It's good for Eve.

Princess Bride wrote:(play EvE my way...stuffs) Hai Princess and thank you for the opportunity to describe (again) how our carebear-to-killer program works.
Step 1: After detonating a PVE player, our highly skilled artisans of asshattery and f#ckery reach out to our victims, in an amicable extension of the hand of friendship, and invites him to join us. The victim is told that his own demise is perfect example of just how easy one may transition from PVE drudgery to content creation, without granting killrights, negatively impacting sec status, or spending a period in purgatory trading ships tit-for-tat in the losec or null wastelands to learn PVP.
He is then given THE WORD, a manual for enjoying delicious loot-piniata pimp juice from day one, and set forth upon the universe, in a viral model of expansion we like to call 'Kill it Forward'.
But this is just Step 1 Princess, not the end game....
Step 2: Armed with a clear understanding of game mechanics, transversals (and most notably sig tanking, Lords main modus operandi), the asshattery recruit is then invited to join mercenary operations. Again, they enjoy the detonation of others ships in the comfort of hisec, with additional faction-pit pimp wildebeest on the dinner table, and the occasional good fight against other capables (or merc entities).
Its win win really. Carebears in hisec who would otherwise never pull a trigger, are converted into killers, in a beautiful circle of life (death?) that adds to overall EvE content for everyone to enjoy.
I then maximize said content creation, by sharing said tales with everyone, as (hopeful) further inspiration to others locked into PVE, to play just the tip with shooting others in the face and give PVP a try.
We call this, win win.
PVP elites and followers of space-bushido may not like how we operate, but...f#ck them.

We call this, a forum rules violation.
But anyway, I've got two opposing conclusions clashing against each other here. I am truly torn.
Either Feyd is a genius, and cranking up a shadow of Suddenly Ninjas post-nerf in order to scam lots of money from noobs or the alternative, which is you actually believing all that RPish-sounding nonsense. I want to believe it's the former, because that would be cool, and something to brag about. But the latter ... that falls more into the category of stuff we don't go into with non-gamers when explaining how my favorite game works.
I choose to believe.
Grats on the excellent scam. Good C&P content there. Bravo.
