Hi there,
Some of you might know me from in game or from the posts I make in C&P about pirates killing or ransoming me. But I am looking for some help now.
I would love to fit a sniper BC and I could use some help with what ship and what setup.
My first thought was to go with a Naga due to the range and the DPS but after reading around a bit I have been told that this might not be the wisest choice. The ship would be used in smaller fleets as a long range sniper, I am not interested in going in and brawling with blasters, autocannons or whatever.
So if you guys could help me out I would be very grateful.
Best regards Jonestu Dubbed-áNot-A-Carebear by-áMalcolm Shinhwa A carebear's diary

Tornado and Oracle are both popular. I guess the problem with the Naga is it sacrifices DPS for range and rails have the lowest tracking. Looking at numbers, I guess it's only useful outside of a certain range, while the other ABCs allow greater DPS in shorter range engagements. Oh god. |

Naga looks cool. Space pistol. I'll give it that. "What's worse than a foul-mouthed eight-year-old constantly claiming he's had relations with your mother? A foul-mouthed eight-year-old constantly claiming he's had relations with your mother who thinks he's a gangser, that's what." --áAaron Birch |

How many people are you talking about in the gang? How many of this number would be using nag as vs what kind of support ships will you have.
Naga (nagas nagi?) are an excellent mid sized fleet ship when matched with good recon support. Also a couple naga with links can camp a gate bubble very effectively. However they are exceedingly fragile, particularly in sniper/rail fits. So unless you have enough punch (aka blob) to deal with approaching enemies you'll struggle.
In the ABC group, the oracle and talos both perform better for smaller gangs in my opinion. |

As a last question. Is the Naga viable as a PvE ship? Dubbed-áNot-A-Carebear by-áMalcolm Shinhwa A carebear's diary

Talos is a sexy beast for this mission, as long as you're careful. I bring mine out whenever I have an excuse, and it's hilarious to volley frigs and dessys (including active repped AF's) off grid at once. I'm spec'd in almost all Green ships, but the others are all similar. Talos gets a tracking bonus in place of the Naga's falloff bonus, and you can't 'warp to' less than 100, so I'd prefer the tracking anyway. Here's what I toy with...
Talos: Battlewagon. 8x 425mm Prototype Gauss Guns
2x Sensor Booster JO's (one resolution script, one without) LSE-II 10MN MWD Limited
2x Tracking Enhancers 3x Mag Stabs
Locus, Metastasis, and Collision rigs
For fleet support, you want to sit aligned to your fleet in a safe spot with SeBo's running. As soon as they get engaged, you select 'warp to member at 70/100km'. Land, select target and volley it, and immediately align to something off grid. Select and volley targets starting with ewar/logi if you can reach them, then smallest to largest. If anything burns at you and gets within 35km, warp off and come back. I keep ECM drones just in case I do get pointed. |

Not really. I played with one on Serpentis Blockade and it cleared it. Basically you just have to abuse range and stay out beyond damps. It finished the mission but I can't recommend it. MJD BSs do better at the range game these days and the lack of drones mean getting in close on an L4 is suicidal. |

The tornado with artys appears to have the highest alpha strike of high sec. I found this a few days ago and Im training an alt for it: http://tacticalentertainment.tv/hulkageddon-guide-2012 check the nado training plan.
Its for ganking (ofc) I'm guessing your wanting to use it for a wormhole? get a tanky drake to.. well tank for you maybe? Idk how aggression works in this game, but from reading drone boat tactics if yr tanky ship shoots the sleepers first and gets aggro you can one shot them maybe. Actually I'll just shut up. I dont know what Im talking about.
Links there if you want a gank nado. Erotica 1: "I would create a massive pyramid scheme in Eve to show you what it is, but I'm an honest business person, so you'll just have to find education elsewhere. Start with the wiki link that was linked by a person who didn't even read what he linked." Theres a reason I play eve XD |

The arty nado is only useful if you can volley a ship off the field. Depending on the EHP of the target you will need x nados. If you can't volley then you want dps and the nado has sucky dps. Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85 |
