According to this Table: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Refining#Pilot_Skills While I'm on 50% yield station and got 6.67 standings.
With Refining V + Refinery Efficiency V then anything I'll refine with give 99.5%.
So for the skill Scrapmetal Processing you need Refining V + Refinery Efficiency V before you can train it.
so in theory any ranks above tank 1 of Scrapmetal Processing will basically give me nothing n that situation, correct? In that situation, correct. You can also avoid training Scrapmetal Processing altogether (avoiding having to train Metallurgy V) with a 1% implant. (Or also avoid training Refinery Efficiency V with a 3% implant.) |

this thread is null and void as new devblog about refining overhaul was published... really annoying changes and massive timesink incoming.
Seems we'll need... Refining V \ Refining Efficiency V \ Specific ore Skills 5 on 50% station with 6.67 standings to get 2.8% LESS then what we get now with our 100% refining. They look pretty good.
Plus the refining window is getting a major face-surgery.

I know... I know... but dam skills need to train into Vs now when I thought I was done with them :x "What's worse than a foul-mouthed eight-year-old constantly claiming he's had relations with your mother? There are going to be a lot of people training a lot of reprocessing skills in the next couple months, who then find out they never really needed them to begin with. |

Outsourcing refining services is the key.
I hope we will get a company for refining like red frog for shipping and pro synergy for looting. Think about this:
Who uses the most minerals? Capital ship producers. How do they get their minerals to low/null sec today? Lots of 425mm Railguns. How will they get their minerals to low/null sec after scrapmetal processing is nerfed? Compressed Ore.
You cannot make compressed ore out of minerals, only out of ore.
Therefore: the people who buy the most minerals are going to want to buy ORE and will likely pay more for the raw ore than they would if you ruin it by refining it into minerals.
What you are going to need to outsource is the compression. That will be done by anyone with a POS. |

I'm kind of wondering how lucrative this will be for non-mining hisec pos owners. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Most likely a POS owner will not have a Compression Array online continuously, and will instead just temporarily offline a lab (5 seconds) while compressing.
So really it only costs a hisec owner the price of the Compression Array.
The Reprocessing Array is similar, though requires two labs to be temporarily offlined. |

But if the lab is justifying what it costs to use, there won't be time to offline it.

I offline busy labs all the time when I'm moving stuff between a large ship array used for storage and various manufacturing arrays. The small amount of time offline doesn't really matter. |

I was under the impression offlining labs cancels their jobs? I assume this is not the case for you to use it so freely. |

No. Offlining a lab only pauses the jobs. They resume immediately when the lab is re-onlined. |

checking on the dev blog again normal space station will give base yield of 50% then a pos will give 52% and 54% as base yield depends on which array you use. The 52% one is available anywhere and 54% only from 0.3 and lower.
so does the extra 2\4 % will cover the costs of hauling ores over just refining in 50% yield stations ?
