So here it is, everything Solo. Let's get anything Solo PvP related all in one thread, from Hints & Tips to resources, the current meta and general discussion.
Yes, I know there is a search function for such threads. But much of those resources is outdated and I'm just too lazy to try and sort through 100's of threads to find helpful advice about solo. All advice, input and discussion about the art of solo is welcome, doesn't matter if you are a Noob or a Vet. If you want to post about how big your e-peen is, please take it elsewhere.
So i guess I'll start things off.
Tip:
When roaming out to Sov Null Sec, be aware that as soon as you jump into their region, all the locals are aware what ship you are in and where you are heading. Intel amongst these larger alliances travels very fast. Chances are, it's much harder to catch out ratters because of this, they know well in advance you are coming (they will also have a nice gate camp set up just for you). Quiet often, it's more effective if you can find a wormhole out to Sov Null, this gives the locals less time to prepare for your arrival and many times you can catch out pilots with their pants down.
Resources:
There are quiet a few in game solo chat channels I know of (will fill this space in later once I get home and can login).

I'd really suggest mosing(sp?) on over to Failheap challenge and check out their solo thread. I think FHC is down atm but we'd really just be repeating a lot of the advice already posted there. |

That is great, the more resources the better!
Many pilots have never heard about the FHC site.

When "soloing" in lowsec, you must have your own personal booster, high grade snake set (plus the pair of Zor's), and some Quafe. QCATS is recruiting:-á https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3896299 |

True solo works best when you fit simething an unusual way. As people come to expect a certain kind of play style or loadout from a particular ship they get caught unprepared by fits that don't match the norm.
Things like kil2 and his shield buffer daredevil. Look it up sometime. Granted if you spend enough money you get a dd that has 12k ehp etc etc but you pay through the nose for that. LP store weapon cost rebalance |

Have a kill-board site of your choosing bookmarked, and look into the pilot before engaging. This is only really practical in a quiet system where you can guess with some confidence which pilot is where. There have been more than a few occasions where I've taken fights that I would normally avoid because they tend to fly fits that I'd do well against, or because I can assume some level of incompetency. This isn't perfect, but it takes two seconds of research to get a rough feel for the pilots comfort level, as well as can give you a better sense of possible fits they like to fly. Half of eve is being able to figure out what cards the other guy has, and the more information you can get before engaging the better. |

To add to Beardons tip, I would also add the Eve-Census and Dotlan website is also great to get information from. The Region and System statistics also gives you a bit of a heads up of what you may come across. Many times, I have avoided fights/gatecamps that have a cloaky Falcon alt, insta-locking lokis and smart bombing battleships by doing this. You also find out who the locals are before you get to your destination, which can somewhat mitigate the chance of you being ganked. |

record fights and watch them afterwards. esp if you've lost and try to figure out what went wrong. Also remember that solo isn't 1vs1, a very important part of solo pvp is to figure out when to commit to a fight and when not. And no, links are not required, strictly spoken fleet isn't solo in the first place. eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

Many noob PvPers overlook the navigation skills and focus only on weapons. Remember that you need to think in terms of applied DPS rather than just EFT/PYFA DPS. So make sure you are fast and agile enough to apply damage or keep out of someone else's damage.
And no, links are not required, at least for frigates and dessies. I've never used them. Zappity's Adventures for a taste of lowsec. |

I would also like to add the opposite, being very slow but also very tanky & high DPS. If you are using resources such as the in-game map, Dotlan, Zkillboard and Eve-census you can make better decisions on targeting specific gatecamps that may be around you.
When utilizing this type of PvP style, you want to abuse gate aggression mechanics to split up fleets/camps. Generally, it's NOT a good idea to be engaging at a celestial far off gate. Just be cautious that some pilots may try to bump you off gate preventing you from jumping through. |

I think drugs are underrated, but they help so much. Generally speaking, I'll only use them (Standard) in a ship worth more than 30 mil, and I try not to take em unless the situation is dire. Still, exile has saved my ass more times than I care to admit. I wouldn't advise drugs for frig and dessie solo, mostly because the drugs worth taking (i.e. not synth) will be half the value of your ship.
Also, be respectful to your opponents, and don't talk undeserved ****. Just because they're enemies is no reason to be rude, and people play this game to get fights. There are some pilots who I'm more inclined to engage with less than favorable odds simply because I like them. There are others that I dislike engaging because I don't like them, so why should I give them what they're looking for? Friends can pop up in strange places. That said, there does exist 'friendly **** talk' which is a lot of fun. Just be respectful while doing so. Reputation goes a long way, especially if you're pvping in the same general area.

The best thing I took from that thread:
"yeah much like Kenshin you must progress through these levels to become a master and get the ultimate technique:
1. learn basic skills 2. learn not to fear death 3. learn that you want to live 4. profit?
if you fear death you will not be able to think fast and without fear, but if you do not give a **** you will get complacent and without the mental boost of "I WANT TO KICK YOUR ASS FOR THE DEAD TRAVELING WHORES WHO CARED FOR ME AS A 6 YEAR OLD KID SO I WILL LIVE MY LIFE LIKE THEY WANTED" edge.
deep yeh?
to progress past stage 2 you must either slaughter hundreds of people as an assassin for the chochu rebels or lose your internet spaceship a lot of times, there is not really any way to beat experience. After each death you must question why you died. People in lol-blob alliances never learn anything because when they die its because their name started with A instead of Z. You want your thinking to be: 1. ok I lost vs this taranis in my ab rifter because I tried to kite him and he had railguns 2. next time I will look and see what guns he has and re-adjust my strategy. etc
p.s if you werent raised by whores who got slaughtered by bandits replace that by being in a corp where people make fun of your losses for years."
Deep man Deep.
Erotica 1: "I would create a massive pyramid scheme in Eve to show you what it is, but I'm an honest business person, so you'll just have to find education elsewhere. Start with the wiki link that was linked by a person who didn't even read what he linked." Theres a reason I play eve XD |

EVE pvp is really easy.
1. select target you want to kill
2. make plan how to kill it.
3. fit proper ship for the plan.
4. execute. |
