May I request the applications section be split into desktop applications and web applications, and possibly open source and closed source, since there's quite a few there.

I have heard that some of those applications require the use of MySQL and all sorts of arcane database thingies that normal people don't have installed on their computers, don't know how to use, and don't have access to at all.
Separating out readily usable applications, from those that require specialized software, so that each appears on a separate list, would probably be very useful.
