With the coming expansion ores are going to have their mineral composition increased, but is this going to effect all ore mined pre-expansion or only those mined post-expansion?? |

BUUTT...........
After the update you'll only need 100 units of each ore in order to refine a batch hence if u calculate how much you get compared to the old version of refining take it into account. If you have 35000m3 of veldspar (a full mackinaw) you have 350,000 units. At the current 333 units per refine batch that is 1051 batches yielding 1000 trit per batch, or 1,051,000 trit. Once the summer patch hits that same 350,000 units is 3500 batches yielding 415 trit per batch at 100% (impossible) refine rate, or 1,452,500 units of trit. |

Erm. Obviously if you mine some ore now and refine it now pre-refining changes you will receive yield based on current refining rates. If you mine some ore now and wait til after the changes to refining then it will be refined under the changed stats. |

which comes out at 1,057,420 at 72.8% (things may act differently, depending on when the rounding is applied. At the batch level or on the whole lot. batch level is 302 per hundred, which is a total of 1,057,000 units) Steve Ronuken for CSM 9! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4236322 http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

In terms of high sec I'm not sure those figure are correct. I think the blog says in high sec we will be losing about 2.8% yield from refining. So those figures can't be correct. Or if you were mining in nullsec I think they will get 20% more yield than in high sec at a Minmatar outpost with upgrades. Twenty percent on top of your first figure isn't the second figure you've written. |

I said a 100% (impossible) rate. Look at Steve's post for an obtainable yield.
Further more, with perfect skills and no implant your yield is 69.6% at a 50% station so you would get 1,010,577 trit.
At a 60% null sec station with 4% implant the yield is 86.7%, or 1,261,200 trit. An increase of 210,200 units over current perfect refine. |

And people are saying nullsec pilots won't mine after the changes. Tis a bluff methinks. |

Example: It is possible that minerals will no longer be traded more than ore; the mineral market may shrink considerably. Compressed ore could become the staple choice of manufacturers.
My Magic 8-Ball predicts there will be chaos in the short-term, causing all prices to rise considerably.
It will probably take a year or two after the change for the market to stabilize, and then the actual effects could be determined. |

If you need the minerals in high sec you are better off refining the ore before the change. But if you need the minerals in null sec, stock up on ore, after the change you will be able to compress ore in high sec to jump it out. Reprocessing modules and ship is getting a massive nerf as well, so no more compressing minerals into 425 rails. |

A net loss for all those that dont have an upgraded minmatar station close by. |
