Emerson's composing techniques aside, most of the early sound wave synthesis was done through modular synthesizers. You know those big walls of circuitry where you need to patch envelopes/oscillators/frequencies/filters/etc. All that simultaneously while playing :) (and in his case jumping on/over, riding and kicking reverberation chambers on organs :P among other).
He was a genius. RIP

Hawkwind - Assault and Battery / Golden Void
From 'Warrior on the Edge of Time' (1975), in collaboration with Sci-Fi writer Michael Moorcock. Based on his 'Eternal Champion' concept.
Enjoy!

I listened to military music, national hymns, and other songs played by bagpipes. I also recorded it and will try to edit it later on , although I am busy with other works.

He was a genius. RIP Like so. After giving Toccato about my 200th listen since my teen years, I looked up the composer, and it turns out the song is actually based on the Fourth Movement of Alberto Ginastera's 1st Piano Concerto. ELP were great about that-- transforming classical compositions into progressive rock excellence. The whole Pictures at an Exhibition album is one of those.
Except this one, which is a Greg Lake original I think: The Sage.

Sorry for the double posting bad etiquette. Too much good stuff here, can't help commenting.
From the Beginning is interesting, because it seems that people have real trouble figuring out exactly which chords he's playing. Even experienced guitar teacher people. If you download tabs, the chords will sound close, but not exact. So not right. Same for watching YouTube videos. I did find the right chords (to my ears at least) once, and that was a joyous day for me. They're barre chords around the 8th and 10th frets, with odd things sharpened and flattened, if I remember correctly.
That's the trouble-- I don't remember correctly. I hastily wrote them down at the time, but a cleaning crew bagged that scrap of paper along with a lot of other soggy stuff after a basement flood. I'll have to see if I can plot them out again, based on pure trial and error.
