I've just put up a POS and noticed that with my extra research slots I can tweak the settings to allow access, charge fees, etc?
Is there a guide on this, somewhere? Seems the options are a little vague and google returned nothing. Wondering if it's something from the new backend changes CCP has been rolling out for POSes. |

you cant "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

It gives you really stupid ways to prevent your corpmates from using the pos. And it gives you a way to charge them, I think.
The best you can do is let alliance-mates use the ME and PE slots, and perhaps charge them or restrict based on stupid stuff like sec status. Basically as others have said, you can allow alliance members to access slots that do not require inputs, so ME and PE only. But public access never has worked, and current CCP developers refuse to touch anything to do with POS code as it is impossible to modify without breaking. The code is just to old, and nobody who helped develop it works there any more.
POSes are no the block for a revamp, but it needs to be a complete overhaul which is hard to do in a single update.
The only advice I can give you is do not mess with the access unless you have to, it is very buggy, and you can end up locking yourself out of the slots. The options do not do what they say, the charging for slot use is very buggy, and even if it did work, you can only charge the owning corp members or to a lesser extent, alliance members. |

Nothing in the pos interface will work the way you think it should. Just abandon logic and go read a walkthrough on anything pos related, it will save you a lot of time and headaches. |

Trivia:
Once upon a time, there was a "Public" option checkbox for slots. It was the default, and meant corporation and alliance members could use it.
BUT it confused people, thinking that they could make their slots available to people outside their corp and alliance.
CCP apparently planed for public slots, but it never happened.
CCP removed the "Public" setting, and it is now the invisible default. Now when you check any box, it means all unchecked boxes are disabled. |
