I know I am new to this game, but I was wondering if there was were any consideration about giving a small bonus to people playing and using certain things in game and it take away from the overall time to max out the related skills?
So for example.......As you are playing the game running missions and salvaging wrecks, you have salvaging only trained to Level 2. But let's say every time you successful salvage a wreck, it would take away a very small percentage of the overall time that is required to max out salvaging to level 5? I know all of the skills interact with each other when you get into more complicated weapons and passive ship modifications, but I was just wondering if it was ever considered for part of the game. Kind of providing a small incentive for players to log in and play to get decreased training.

If you want to shorten your skill training time, go to the Character Bazaar and buy one with how many million skillpoints you like. Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20.

I've liked all the posts that resemble my opinion on this matter.

Uhm.... no! As much as I hate the skill system, I don't think this would do the game any good. People would start grinding and exploiting the f*** out of this. |

The current skill system gives you a lot more freedom in what you do when playing than a skill system based on what you do.
Anyone else ever try sit click the door in Befallen for 2 hours straight because that was the only way to get Pick Lock over 80 to the needed level to open the door in City of Mist? |

The Eve skill training is what keeps the players in the game so I don't think CCCP will change it.
...it's also what fails to keep players in the game. I put a 20+ days skill in train q now and I'm looking at some other games cause I'm not in the mood of playing until it's finished. I just hope I won't forget about Eve until it's finished |

I do feel for you OP, because 5 years ago I was at your level. I thought I would never get any skills trained.
With that said, all of us have to through the same skill training as you are doing. I have enjoyed this game from day one & have always found things to do with my skills over the years. Yes, I could not do everything at once, but there was plenty for me to do.
CCP will never make this game pay to skill or play more to skill faster. It would ruin the game.

That's a stupid mentality. I train long skills all the time and still go out on fleets. It's not like you don't have a ton of other ships or roles you can do.

No... Many games require grinding to level. Eve is not one of those games. |

I don't think there is really a way to do EVE right... but you are definately doing it wrong. If all you care about are the skill points, then why are you playing this game? |

i once calculated that i will probably be able to survive on roughly 16,000Gé¼ a year for the next 50 years (including projected inflation). if OP is willing to support me with a 800,000Gé¼ donation, i will quit my job and grind my EVE characters 24/7 for the rest of my life.
