Was on a mission and warped out before collecting them, is there any trick or technique to get them back?
I'm in the same system still, and it hasn't been long (as of this writing), but I don't have any reference points or bookmarks that I can think of - I was just following the location under the Agent mission was still active. |

There should be an option "recover lost drones" at the scanning screen. |

Sadly... the only way to recover abandoned drones is by remembering where you left them.
If you can remember, you can recall them after arriving on-grid (see: you can see them) by right-clicking your capacitor HUD and selecting "Reconnect to Lost Drones." Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

You can probe your drones down. You'll need to use combat probes. Probing your drones down is good practise for harder probing scenarios! Day 0 advice for new players: Day 0 Advice for New Players |

Thanks, very helpful answers!
I was wondering where I could find the "reconnect drones" command (although I'm likely way to far away for that to work).
But I'll definitely try the combat probes, sounds like a good shot.

You are thinking of probes (the scanning tools). Drones are a weapon system.

If the mission is still open just warp back to its location. Your drones should still be there waiting patiently for you to pick them up. |

There is reconnect to lost drones when you right click on your capacitor. Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if your in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. |

You can always try to probe them down in a bonused ship.
They're cheap too! |

They're cheap too! I used to practice probing in a T1 Heron by hunting drones down in Amarr.
Now one wouldn't expect there to be a lot of abandoned drones in that system, but the number was surprisingly large at the time. A mission hub probably has far more too.
For the amount of time and effort though, it really is easier to just buy more, unless the nearest supply is far away. Though I have taken an AFK shuttle to Jita and returned, and had a bulk order of drones couriered to my mission station. |

Yes, I'm going to buy more - but was good to learn at least a bit about combat probes. I was surprised to learn that the Algos that I'm flying right now doesn't have enough CPU to fit an expanded probe launcher. For now I haven't looked much at other ships, but I'll come back to combat probes at a later date (for now, just want to get on with the mission).
Anyhow, thanks again for all the informative replies - there is oh so much to learn about this game!

How far away from your drones should you be to recover them? Let's say I'm in a tristan running away and had to warp off and warp backed after some time with my drones at least 300 km away. How near should I be to my drones so that I can get them back? |
