A funny thing happened. Last night I set up 3 skills to train. So I check on them this morning...one of them had completed but the training then stopped leaving the other two. I didnt pause it, it just stopped on its own. I dont know how much time I lost.
Anyone else experience this? A great American humorist and author recently said: "The one unintentional flaw of the internet generation is its ability to give the stupidest segments of our population the loudest voices." I have a tendency to agree with his statement.-á |

Ah, thanks. I thought i was losing it.
What tipped me off was remembering 3 skills in que, and finding only two this morning. The training auto-stopped when the first skill finished. I'm sort of suspicious that skill training is handled by a separate machine: the "completion imminent" delay really smells of one machine talking to another, or an exceptionally long database lock wait (seems less likely given the duration).
If that is the case, then I could see how a "queue this" message failed to be acted upon, but the current skill completed as expected.
Just a theory, and idle rambling. |

Thanks. Went ahead and submitted a ticket. I didnt lose that much time, but I'd hate to have this happen over a few weeks break from game.
This is reason enough to have an out of game skill queue app that you can check up on without having to load the whole eve client. I imagine something like this happening.

ugh.
I get all buttmad when I forget my training for like, 3-4 hours. I'd probably freak out and beat my head off my desk if I forgot for this long.

Amateurs!
Over the years I've had many alts and restarts and if, for whatever reason, I'd stop playing (them) for a while they would have less SP than they should have had given their age. For me that's enough reason to not play them anymore (or sell them) and start all over again. I'm talking about chars with 15-20+ mil sp.
Been playing for 10 years, I keep switching characters.

Almost as good and won't cost you a thing - one of the several third party EVE apps will fill the bill nicely, if you have a smart phone.
Personally have had good luck with EVE Watch.
/me after encountering all the other glitches in the game (and been asked to clear my cache each time - to now avail) I wonder why I have hit this one.. hmmm time to beat head on wood in advance....

a good way to prevent this is to look on the reset tab of the setting menu, and find the option that asks you before accepting changes to the skillque. its annoying to accept every time, but its a good way of knowing when something is wrong if that pop up does NOT show up. |

Been there, done that. I dont think there exists an adequate face palm to express how one feels when they finally spot the que not moving along.

Well for a dev, it cant be all that bad. Just open dev console and spawn another 100 billion into your wallet for pain and suffering.

This has happened to me. Twice. Got reimbursed, but the second time, the Support staff tried to blame it on me. Nope. Not true.
I *did* get reimbursed, so I'm not kicking too hard.

Once upon a time I had a long skill in my que. It was so long I forgot that it was still training (even when I was online). About a day after it had ended I went to go check it and realized that I had "lost" a day of training. Oh well. It's just a game I told myself. So I slapped on another skill and carried on.
It amuses me when some people make these situations seem like the "end of the world." It isn't. Just keep playing. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Anyone else experience this? Yes I experienced this on an alt a couple weeks ago.
I've had it happen one other time over the course of many years. In the other case the character finished a skill and never continued the queue properly. It happens. |

So if you're an EVE player, then logically, does this mean you have to ban yourself for threatening violence against an EVE player (i.e yourself?) Or do you have to ban yourself for not stopping beating your head off after you realize that the EVE player (yourself) that you're tormenting is freaking out emotionally?
