I believe that the ability of fleet boost modules to impact offensive activity elsewhere in the system means that they should trigger an aggression timer when activated, in the same way as bastion modules do.
This would prevent boosting ships from jumping out of system or docking during a fight that they are actively influencing. |

It's an interesting idea, to be sure. I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week. |

how about only when a fleet-mate who's receiving boosts does an aggressive act? Seems weird that my orca would get aggression timer for boosting some skiffs. |

Mining links arent warfare links CCP has made this decision, and it would be nice if people understood this Its kind of why they are in seperate tabs you know? |

I should be clearer that mining links should be excluded, int he same way that mining links can be run from within POS shields but warfare links cannot. |

I'm also referring to the shield boosting links that some people use in dangerous space. |

E: still in relation to ships not in combat (ratters/miners)
Those shield boosts are affecting PVP (non-censensual PVP, but PVP nonetheless) and so activating the boost should trigger aggression. |

I agree with OP and he gets +1 from me.
Every link other than the mining ones should give you weapons timer (1 min timer, doesn't get you concorded in hsec) like the bastion mod of the marauders.
Correct me if I got any of the mechanics wrong, haven't bothered with highsec in some time. |

I don't feel particularly strongly about this, but I don't like this suggestion.Degnar Oskold wrote: Those shield boosts are affecting PVP (non-censensual PVP, but PVP nonetheless) and so activating the boost should trigger aggression.
theres lots of other things that affect pvp that do not necessarily trigger aggression. Gang links are not offensive modules, you shouldn't get a weapons timer from them. Even targeted remote assistance doesn't start a new weapons timer, it just gives you the one that your target has. +1, but I would say
"Make warfare link modules inherit timers from every member of the fleet they are providing boosts to"
EDIT: that should include all timers except for limited engagement timers Fleet Bookmarks New Gravimetric Sites Med Clones 2.0 |

Seems like a silly idea, besides if you had a hard to scan T3 in High/Low before this - how exactly is this going to affect you?
Until they bring links on grid OR include them in kill mails this is just a poor stop-gap. |

True, it is a stop gap. But a quick and easy one, it owuld just need a flag adjusted on the module to trigger an aggression timer.
A hard-to-scan boosting T3 in a safe spot costs over half a billion. During a fight, it can be found and killed using a character with about an equivalent number of skill points and half a billion ISK worth of scanning implants.
But if the same ship is on a gate or hugging a station, it can simply jump or dock in the middle of the fight without any regard for the fact that it was affecting the fight, no matter what you bring to stop it. |

I like it. Adds more meaning to having an alt with skills knowing there's more risk involved, and not just some alt you log on every time you want more tank/etc. Haaaaaalp my head's on fire |

You still have to explain how the timers are "aggressive". No other module that assists in a players stats. The only exceptions to this is the Bastion module.
I still don't see how passively boosting someone who is not engaged in combat should be punished for any reason.
If the boosted pilot participates in an aggressive act then the booster can inherit it. Thats perfectly fine. |

A lot of people use the links for non PVP stuff also so at the very least it should be inherited from agression by fleet not just for lighting the links.
Not convinced by the idea though it seems a hack job to try and offset the impact of something thats only broken in a small part of the game - albeit that small part of the game can be somewhere which some players spend a large amount of their game time. |
