I might be wrong, but it seems to me that I learned a certain skill within 8 days with my main toon while my alt is going for a 16 Day ordeal. Could it be that there are differences regarding previously learned skills or am I simply confusing things? I don't know where I could look up how long it took my main to learn something... So many buttons.... sighh L

Is it possible one of your characters has attributes mapped differently than the other?

That link is pretty old but it covers the basics.
I don't pay much attention to skills, or attributes, I just make sure there is a skill in my training que and then go do something else in eve like mining or exploration, or missions.
Other people use tools such as Evemon and figure out ways to tweak their training times down to an exact science. The above link along with other links you will find using Google will help you find those "tweaks".
Don't forget to have fun though. |

Absolutely!
I am not paying to much attention regarding a final toon goal. I want one more educated as PvP/PvE and one more towards Mining/Hauling. The L5 mining barge is a bit of a bear. Which does not mean I can't toon around with that char. Like a blue spade and a green shovel for the sand box 8).

The link still talks about learning skills, which no longer exist. You can ignore most of those formulas.
Now it's simply : SP / minute = Primary Attribute + (Secondary Attribute / 2)
Which ends up being something between 25.5 (wrong remap, no implant) and 45 (best remap, +5 implants). Or 1530 and 2700 if you prefer to count in SP/hour. |

IIRC new characters train at twice the normal rate until they reach a certain SP threshold. www.ensignyooch.wordpress.com

Although there are the cerebral accelerators, which will boost the training of a new character if you use one. (By 270, 810 or 1530 SP/hour, depending on the type of accelerator.) |

Attributes and implants.
SP / minute = Primary attribute + (secondary attribute / 2).
Each skill depends on 2 attributes, so if your main and alt have a different attribute mapping (and implants), then skilltimes will change. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Old info is almost as old as the learning skills (as that's when they removed the training boosts). Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy
