Dear offensive and grotesque capsules. As some of you know, I have been working to map out your activities of murder, piracy, and slaughter of innocent.
The project is to automate categorisation of people's fit and the circumstances of their death, and here are the first results, done for 500,000 deaths, 2012-2014. Data substituted into a map created by CCP Quant
Mining, precision 88%, recall: 93% http://jsfiddle.net/yfrUh/12/embedded/result/
Cynos, precision 74%, recall 83% http://jsfiddle.net/yfrUh/14/embedded/result/
Logistics: precision 67%, recall 75% http://jsfiddle.net/yfrUh/10/embedded/result/
Haulers: precision 63% recall 46% http://jsfiddle.net/yfrUh/20/embedded/result/
Now, these maps are not just death of logi ships, it analyses the fit, so a Domi with 4 RR's or any other ship clearly outfitted to support others is shown here. At the moment I am working on a map of suicide ganks.
To these who want to support the project, you can do it by ranking Random peoples kills or Your own. This is used to further improve accuracy.
If you want to have a look at the algorithm is it's current state, here is a collection of 2,000 kills ranked automatically. This algorithm was trained using 650 unique kills categorised by 22 people, When people categorise random kills, agreement on a person's fit is 74%, and on circumstances of death is 72% When they rank their own kills, agreement in 86% for fit and 95% for circumstances.

It sometimes counts noobships without cynos fit as cyno ships from what I've noticed while reviewing the kills for him. I can't speak for him, but that would have to be my guess as to why. |

Should answer your question. I think the tool analyzed Fitting and Cargo of destroyed ships. |

IDK looking at that mining one it seems pretty unaccurate.
Miners in HED, 9KOE and 36N? I don't think so ;) |

Went ahead and did some poking around on rating system, missing a category under fits for "PvP: suicide ganking". Also, do I put failed ganks where miner is brick-tanked under "Concord" or "Epic Fail" if the miner also deals damage? |

This helps a lot, thanks.
Miners in Jita problem is probably due to noob ships with the civ miner?
There are perhaps a few systems you should simply exclude from certain maps. - Remove miners in places like Jita - Remove cynos in high-sec entirely |

Seems to be a lot of missing stats from highsec miners, it seems?
I'm not familiar with how this project works, but for example it claims only 93 miners died in Balle since 2012, when I know for certain this number is supposed to be in the thousands.
The same can be said for a number of other hotspots, a lot of the numbers are not even a tenth of what they should be.
Nice job nevertheless. I can't imagine a way to generate even remotely accurate stats for this kind of thing if you don't happen to work for CCP. www.minerbumping.com |

Zappity wrote:Very nice. Is it possible to more clearly differentiate lowsec vs highsec 0.5?
It's a play with numbers, i.e. linear interpolation between value ranges and colors.
You can play with it yourself in the edit mode, Lines #62-65 in the code:
Quote: var color = d3.scale.linear() .domain([-1, 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8, 1]) .range(["darkred","red", "darkorange","orange","lime","aqua"]) .interpolate(d3.interpolateLab);
There:
Quote: var color = d3.scale.linear() .domain([-1, 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.8, 1]) .range(["darkred","red", "darkorange","orange","yellow","lime","aqua"]) .interpolate(d3.interpolateLab);

There are perhaps a few systems you should simply exclude from certain maps. - Remove miners in places like Jita - Remove cynos in high-sec entirely As well as newbie ships with a civilian miner, we're probably seeing people buying mining ships in Jita, and then exploding before they manage to leave the system.
