Thanks. "Working as intended", I hope. Why were you afk in space? That's a serious infraction of the Code, there, mate. If you send me 5 mil ISK for "services rendered", I might be able to talk a New Order Agent into giving you a chance to pay for your permit. well isnt that what the A UTOPILOT supposed to do? Can only be a bug IMO, dont tell me its working as intended, cause from what I know AUTOPILOT is AUTOPILOT. Or else it should be called "SEMI autopilot",... or "autpilot if not afk".

We are unsure as to why this happens, however GIA Agent Gevlon Goblin has assured us that our elected CSM representitives will be pushing for a fix on this issue. To ensure that this happens, simply vote according to our wonderful voting list that is somewhere on the internet, pass go & collect your 250mil from Gevlon. It's something to do with it losing it's graphics context. That doesn't happen in window mode if it doesn't get minimized, so play window mode and alt tab, but don't minimize and you'll be fine. In full screen, when you alt tab it effectively minimizes. You can see when this happens, as the screen will freeze or go blank when you first go back to the client for a second then appear. That's it resetting itself (effectively).
Be aware though, if you click dock then you lock your PC this will also cause you to fail to dock, windowed mode or not. The Indecisive Noob - A new EVE Fan Blog for news and stuff. Wholesale Trading - The new bulk trading mailing list. |

I lost a dictor to this 2-3 months ago, copied the combat log where the commands were seend. (last one before being blown tho pieces was a docking comand, had to go afk after pressing dock). The GM tried to shake me off by descriptions how docking exactly works...when i linked forum threads like this and tried to prove it looks to be a general and ongoing issue i was told they can't refund bugs and i should file a bug report....so i stopped caring. |

I had a carrier sitting outside of a station for 9 hours doing this. For all the people complaining about people in nullsec docking up at the first sign of a threat, in 9 hours no one blew up my carrier.

We gankers are also busy people, for your information. So many Evil miners, so little time... Your actions cause a butterfly effect. Here let me explain.
Your boredom derives you to Alt-Tab which tingles our "ganker senses". That tingle tells us that you aren't playing the game which you should be playing. Knowing this fact causes a chemical reaction in a gankers mind which leads to an unstoppable urge to fit a catalyst and blow you back to your medical clone station. Concord guys slack off as always and arrive late to the party. Foregone conclusion occurs. We warp our pods to safety. The ganker senses have 15 min cooldown to be triggered again. This is like a never ending process.

Especially doing it as Tippia describes. On a side note, I used to have the same issue, but only for one character, though at some point it was resolved, but I'm not sure how.
So what you're saying is that your tactics reflect the safety of your environment and you adapt to keep yourself safe? Me too.
I bet that if you did get caught and blapped you wouldn't cry about it and whine for nerfs on the forums. Me neither.

Not sure if OP is saying what I think he is saying.
An example. Two accounts with a pilot in each account being played at the same time. Both pilots are in space. You go to one pilot and order him to dock in a station. You press alt key and switch to the other pilot, order him to dock at a station, and stay watching that pilot. If you don't alt tab to the first pilot then they will not dock.
If the OP meant this then the game has been like this for all the years I have played EVE Online. I just presumed it was meant to be like that as others have said. |

Confirming this is highly annoying when it happens. Also, "file a bug report," really? The number of people who mention this occuring should be a clear indication that there is a bug. Also it's easy to replicate... Enter system, pick station, click dock, alt-tab, come back later. Hell, it even happens sometimes if you alt-tab back to the client before you've finished your warp.
Edit:

It was supposedly fixed at some point, I believe it was shortly after they made the "Jump" and "Dock" buttons warp and then complete the action (or supposed to.) |

This is a well known issue that has been around for well over a year and has been bug reported multiple times and produced multiple threads in issues and workarounds.
I have reported this bug myself with a full logserver report, screenshots ect.
at the time I reported it, it was being investigated by ccp yitterburn.

While you are at it, could you please also fix the "warp to zero isn't always warp to zero" bug? I mean, sure, you can work around it with bookmarks, but wasn't "warp to zero" introduced so that people didn't have to create tons of bookmarks for this? |
