Like... RANDOM WORMHOLE GENERATORS?! AMIRIGHT?
Ugh, please go away and stop trashing up the forums. Most of the wormhole candidates we voted for are the ones who want to leave wormhole space as it is or make minor changes. http://imgur.com/yEQqAeb |

Alrighty,
I'm going to pretend for a minute that the original comment was serious.
There are multiple wormhole candidates. All of them are against things that take the individuality / randomness that makes WH space enjoyable. Most of them are even supportive of non-pvp playstyles; most of the farming evictions aren't personal, just something to do.
WH space is fine Vs. we need new content. 1. There is clearly a disagreement about what you're looking to happen. Maybe you are implying that said new content needs to take place outside of W-Space; which would kind of defeat the purpose of you having posted in this forum. I'm going to make the case that you meant new 'W-Content.'
2. Any new content is going to change the status quo of W-space. Revisiting existing content will actually alter play/population LESS (minus the delay k162 thing, which for the record I too think is stupid - unless it can be detected with probes).
3. New content will eventually be added, mechanics will be tweaked. When it does get added, I'd like to make sure that there aren't a bunch of Highsec, Nullsec Block, and (i'd moslty be okay with 'cause it's kinda like w space) Lowsec players at the helm. Mostly because if they don't play in our space, they may not give a **** about it. Secondly, if items like wormhole stabilizers get added... it makes it a LOT easier for big corps to start moving in. Which will KILL the only space in EvE where you can 'hold territory' as a small corp (even 1-3 characters).
You think Nullsec guys might not want to take a shot at using capitals to blap some sleepers if they could keep a permanent connection going into their territory? That is why my ballot is filled with WH candidates (with a couple of others).
Sometimes as an adult you don't get what you want. In those circumstances you look to who can provide the least ****** alternatives. And you gobble that **** sandwhich up, cause it's the best you're going to get.
Still willing to debate the point if there is any significant disagreement. |

We are under the illusion that the CSM really have any power to make a change. Sure, if CCP asks them something or makes a change the CSM is a good way to gauge how the player base will react or have reacted.
They are pretty much the eve player base distilled to a few voices so if CCP does something, there is a smaller more 'articulate' group of people to deal with rather than the usual 'Don't change ANYTHING' or 'You don't know what your doing, even though im happy with everything you've done up this point, but now you want me to change so i hate you and am going to take a shower for the first time in 6yrs' kind of feedback.
I have asked this question to multiple csm veterans ' Has there been any change CCP has implemented, where CCP has been reluctant to forward with it, but due to the pressure from the CSM that they went ahead and made anyway?"
Not surprisingly the answer was 'No...'
So throwing your vote away literally silences the changes you as a player would like to see/not to see. This is not the government, you are not electing a csm member to make a change. Black Power - Brotha's in space unite! |

Not true. CSM's help represent player arguments and support for CCP's proposed changes; help them gauge community support / advise direction for the game. I'm under no illusion that these players have the power to change game mechanics nor do I believe that they will be changing the game through their conversations and elevator pitches.
However, they do communicate with CCP developers regularly. Aside from the forums they probably have the loudest player voice.
If CCP didn't listen to their player base and just made the game whatever they wanted we wouldn't have the game we do now. The fact is they are sensitive to player opinion enough to change direction balancing what they think players want, need, and maintaining a profitable business. The results they deliver may be relatively intangible to the player base but they are there.

Since I personally feel this thread applies to me, as one of the CSM9 W5, IGÇÖd like to take a moment to answer this post. Firstly, troll or not, alt or not, the following is your opinion and this is what I'm responding to:
Quote:WH's are fine. Leave them alone. C4's are fine. No K162 delay is fine. Seriously, we need new content, not changing existing content. This opinion is the basis for your title, GÇ£why I'm not voting for any wormhole candidates.GÇ¥ Now, since you arenGÇÖt voting for me anyhow, IGÇÖm not going to attempt to win you over, but I will show you how your entire argument is incorrect.
I can speak for myself by saying that I believe the overall state of wormholes needs far less work than other areas of gameplay. Many would love to see an expansion into our content and perhaps an arc that provides more focus on community growth, attention, and interaction. This isnGÇÖt something everyone would prefer, but after speaking with many many wormhole residents, it is something that is seen as interesting. However, wormholes are fine and protected by this community publicly and by the CSM members like Two step and James. The Chitsa is a wormhole resident and CSM delegate who wishes to stir the pot within the community, but he also actively engages the community to get the ball rolling on discussion.
Honestly though, none of the current CSM9 candidates overly duplicate The ChitsaGÇÖs approach to wormhole changes, although I have been known to write and publish an idea, then engage the community in discussion, followed by sharing my findings and learnings (C4 Super Highway and Redux), which may be viewed as close. This group wishes to support changes that are beneficial without breaking our gameplay overall and/or engage in discussion to understand why an idea or prospective change is off beam. ItGÇÖs through instigating discussion and communication that we can determine how an idea is viewed by the overall wormhole communities. If none of us are elected, then those discussions canGÇÖt be ensured.
This is impossible. The ESS is a perfect example of a change to the greater Eve community that horribly impacted the wormhole community. CCP will implement changes and it is smart to have wormhole candidates who take the time to observe, stay involved, and communicate with CCP directly when issues arise. Also, who do expect to stop CCP from implementing Wormhole Stabilizers and/or other awful ideas if there arenGÇÖt dedicated wormholers to protect our community. We have some good delegates that would engage some of us to ask if an idea would be good, but the NDA will prevent those CSM delegates from engaging us, unless we have a delegate already on the CSM. It is vital that we have community involvement onboard, and personally, IGÇÖd like to impact role management, POS changes, protect and impact the T3 rebalance, increase PVE yield in lower class wormholes among other things that could improve wormhole life and gameplay. In this, I disagree with your stance.
Some players agree, some players disagree. I wrote the article based on AxlothGÇÖs idea for dual-static C4GÇÖs and it lead to a great discussion on Reddit and on these forums. This led to me writing a second article with alternative proposals, including one about increasing wander wormhole to wormholes, which many more players seemed to be interested in supporting. All in all, this idea led to a discussion, and was important to making progress on the subject of C4 wormholes. Who is going to do that for you on the CSM? Us.
The Discovery Scanner Overlay automatically updating is a poor mechanic for wormhole residents, pvp groups being the most impacted. I like the Discovery Scanner Overlay, but would prefer it to only update with a session change or actively probing. K162GÇÖs should spawn a signature when opened, and should be probe-able, but the automatic update of the Overlay is not fine.
- Seriously, we need new content, not changing existing content.
This sentence is confusing. You suggest that wormholes are fine and that we should leave them alone, yet you want new content, and you donGÇÖt Wormhole Delegates on CSM9 to be involved in the changes and new content? Guess what, new content is going to cause change. If we arenGÇÖt there on the team, communicating with Developers and Staff, then we canGÇÖt provide insight and experience from our gameplay experiences during the process. That would be bad for wormholes. In conclusion, you should vote for wormhole representation. Thanks.

So why aren't you going to vote for someone that wants new content added to wormhole space?
If wormhole space is fine in your opinion, that's all the more reason to vote for a candidate who feels the same to ensure he/she tries to keep things the way they are. +1 |
