How would one fit a frigate for for a broke and complete newbie in FW? I have tried BC but most of those fits lack feedback(which is what I need most) that and because BC has a bad reputation overall :/
I know the basics of fitting frigate which include the trusty DC(either I or II), a propulsion module along with either a scrambler/webifier/disruptor(for kiting fits?) an active or buffer shield/armor tank and weapons.
Thing is, so far, my fits are all T1 modules but I am not sure whether they will be enough to go vs other people since they tend to be rather dirty cheap (less than 1m with hull and all modules). I know I will lose a lot of frigates while learning and that is why I am planning on going very cheap and mayyybeeee I can afford some better modules if I do decent at FW.
Can anyone here provide a good(but still cheap) fits for all T1 frigates? Preferably under 1M, I plan on using all of the T1 frigates eventually and I'm sure most of the modules will crossfit with each other.
Thanks in advance to everyone |

I will post some I and people in the FW warzone fly a lot. These are going to be T2 fits mostly - you just need to downgrade the mods either in tech level or sometimes type (neutrons to ions, 400 plate to 200 plate, etc.) depending on your fitting skills. Yes - you will die alot. When you do, convo the guy that killed you and ask him what you could have done better. Some people will tell you to suck vacuum. Others will offer helpful advice. Sometimes losses are due to skills, sometimes due to hard-counter fits, but usually it is a combo of both. Also - there is a skill to disengaging. If you aren't applying damage to the enemy, then try to disengage. It doesn't really matter if you lose your ships in these price ranges, but learning how to disengage in a hopeless situation is useful. As primarily a flyer of "all in" blasterships for years, it took me too long to learn this lesson.
The AB fits below are for fighting in FW plexes. The Derptron is all-powerful and can be applied to all situations.
Pick one race and train small guns to T2. You didn't specify races so I will give you one for each. No fit is all powerful. But these all work:
[Atron, The Derptron] Damage Control I Insulated Stabilizer Array I Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
Medium Subordinate Screen Stabilizer I Upgraded 1MN Microwarpdrive I J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Limited Light Ion Blaster I,Antimatter Charge S Limited Light Ion Blaster I,Antimatter Charge S Limited Light Ion Blaster I,Antimatter Charge S
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Small Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer I Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Pretty sure this fit costs less than 1M isk. Approach, overheat guns, profit. If the other guy has a web, you will probably die. When you get T2 guns trained, null ammo may allow you to win fights against webs too.
[Rifter, It doesnt suck] Damage Control II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Small Ancillary Armor Repairer
1MN Afterburner II J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
200mm AutoCannon II,Republic Fleet Fusion S 200mm AutoCannon II,Republic Fleet Fusion S 200mm AutoCannon II,Republic Fleet Fusion S Rocket Launcher II,Caldari Navy Nova Rocket
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Semiconductor Memory Cell I
I really like the Rifter. I liked it before the changes. But now with the falloff changes, I have had a Comet and Enyo run from this fit since the patch. I didnt kill either because I derped on overheating my point, but both might have had cruddy fits too. You can out-range short range guns and get under the guns of long range ships easily. Very versatile.
[Kestrel, Lulz turrets] 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II
1MN Afterburner II Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Script Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Rocket Launcher II, Inferno Rage Rocket Rocket Launcher II, Inferno Rage Rocket Rocket Launcher II, Inferno Rage Rocket Rocket Launcher II, Inferno Rage Rocket
Small Ancillary Current Router I Small Bay Loading Accelerator I Small Trimark Armor Pump I
This Kestrel fit is overpowered, frankly.
And actually - I'm not going to give you an Amarr fit because I don't fly those ships and cant tell you what is good or not. I've fought the Tormentor and it seems to be pretty good.
So here is a second gallente fit:
[Incursus, Rail Incursus] Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Small Ancillary Armor Repairer
1MN Afterburner II J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
125mm Railgun II,Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 125mm Railgun II,Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 125mm Railgun II,Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I Small Semiconductor Memory Cell I
Good fit. Scram kite. Load antimatter and keep at range 7k-ish.
Good luck. I'm probably typing on an iPad, which means the auto-correct is silly and fixing typos is a pain. I ain't fixing them. |

Wow is FW LP worth that much? AFAIK, it was 1LP-1k right? A novice site doesn't give that much LP here but maybe there's something wrong in the way I calculate things... |

Here's a couple of amarr fits. I like lasers!!
[Executioner, Brawler]
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Heat Sink II
1MN Afterburner II X5 Prototype Engine Enervator J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Small Diminishing Power System Drain I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Basically an Executioner varient of the old cookie cutter rifter. But a bit faster and better range.
[Imperial Navy Slicer, Kiter]
Heat Sink II Tracking Enhancer II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Capacitor Power Relay II
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I Warp Disruptor II
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I Small Energy Locus Coordinator I Small Semiconductor Memory Cell I
170dps at 21km range doing 3.7km/s but paper thin don't get caught!
[Tormentor, Brawler - pulse]
Damage Control II Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste Adaptive Nano Plating II Heat Sink II
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I 1MN Afterburner II
Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Hobgoblin II x2
Have killed pretty much all classes of ships with this. Swap Polycarb for another Nano pump if you want to brawl more.
[Punisher, Brawler - MWD/GPL]
Damage Control II Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste 200mm Reinforced Steel Plates II Heat Sink II
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Gatling Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S Gatling Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S Gatling Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S Small Diminishing Power System Drain I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I Small Energy Metastasis Adjuster I Small Energy Metastasis Adjuster I
Surprisingly tough and hits hard for something using the smallest lasers. Rigs can be tailored for more tank if preferred.
And finally.
[Punisher, Brawler - No Point]
Damage Control II Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste Adaptive Nano Plating II Heat Sink II
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator 1MN Afterburner II
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Conflagration S Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Conflagration S Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Conflagration S Small Diminishing Power System Drain I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
200 dps punisher kills a lot of things before they realise they are dead. 'keep at range' 3km apply web, lasers and nos and melt face. That is the Way, the Tao.
Balance is everything.

But what if I want to brawl? I want to try both brawling and kiting since kiting doesn't too manly at all what with dancing and tip-toeing inside ''kiting range''.
I prefer the fists per face ratio of brawling, optimized at 2 per face. |

The Rifter fit I posted earlier allows you to both brawl and scram kite. Its not the best at either, but its good enough to give you a fighting chance in both situations. Select the proper ammo type when you first see the guy on scan and dont brawl against blasters or kite against missiles and you will do well. The Merlin and Punisher are both fair choices for zeroing up and melting face, but their lack of mobility (Merlin) and lack of range control (Punisher) mean they'll often lose to scram-kiters and kiters alike.
Don't be fooled with the cookie-cutter dual-rep AB/scram/cap booster Incursus. It's trash.
By all means, feel free to experiment with brawling fits.
Just remember that the best way to mitigate damage is range. Ergo, range control is key to winning most engagements. QCATS is Recruiting: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=146180 |

Quote as it's very very important to remember!
Dual rep incursus is bad mkay' They get killed by rifters way easier than they should.
In a slight twist put a web on your punisher rather than a scram and have range control to apply you lovely laser dps. it's surprising how many people don't realise they are not pointed. That is the Way, the Tao.
