I would be interested to hear more of your opinions on the Guristas, possibly your personal experiences of having dealt with them in your time as a capsuleer and how you came to choose them as a force to bind yourself to philosophically. But I would also invite you to start a new thread to discuss it.
Back on track, I'd like to thank Jandice for her frequent and high quality reporting from her independent galnet site, and all of those who have been using various clusterwide social media to keep us informed. Many individuals have been absolutely vital to correcting or updating information received while I have been out of pod, and I'd invite anyone with reliable, sourced information to provide updates here.
Current areas of special interest from my perspective are; the organisations or individuals taking the lion's share of the bounties and the trend-breaking capsuleers defying the established status-quo in the harvesting of PLEX in return for the destruction of enemies of the State.
Madam Aelisha,
I hold no qualms with such an option on speaking openly upon my philisophical choice on joining the guristas. As well as apolagize for the obvious innapropriate behaviour on treading off topic, this will happen occasionally.
I would though like to state that these hunts are, not just benefiting for the "state" but also for us with the nullsec, and pirate swayed. i would also like to point out that this is all for good sport. As it is the State supporting it, paying out to what some would call scum, and even going so bold as to thanking us in some regards...with more isk. -á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á This thread has been Plundered. |

It would seem that in high security space, the Provists are being melted quickly by independent capsuleers, and small gangs associated with high security organizations; there's no real battlefield control, so much as a race to destroy the Provists. In low security space, well-- there, the full weight of capsuleer alliances can be brought to bear.
PRIAN pilots have participated in the operations of 13.4 and 16.4; the difference between the two was stark. In the first, Pandemic Legion played with the Provists as if they were dolls, and used them to lure in other capsuleers to engage; other forces were nearby with mid-sized destroyer groups, hunting stragglers, capsules, and any other targets of opportunity. In the second, it was as if a pack of fish had been let loose on a piece of meat; they nibbled, they nipped, and eventually the school was large enough and had enough time that it ate through the meal.
Still, congratulations to my associate Sebastian Melmoth for securing a license reward for participation in the downing of Saara Humo's Chimera. Priano Trans-Stellar: elegant solutions for the State's needs. |

The latest report on the Manhunt: Dragonaurs Saara Humo and Tuohmirasen Oittakko slain at Mastakomon
This time, the bounty was being shared among various capsuleer groups, no dominant force in claiming the PLEX bounties. Adding to this is that capsuleers are taking more drastic measures to claim bounties. A good example is the smartbomb rigged Apocalypse that participated.
In an attempt to claim a podkill PLEX he detonated the smartbombs amidst a fleet, causing the loss of dozens of capsuleers or their ships. Despite this massive collateral damage ( he literally nuked the area) he failed to hit his mark, as the Dragonaur Pod was killed moments before by another. This is an excessive display of the length some capsuleers go for in order to claim these high bounties.
So to all those who are on this Manhunt, watch your back. Dragonaurs Saara Humo and Tuohmirasen Oittakko slain at Mastakomon -á Caldari Navy organizes a manhunt on Provist Raiders!-á |

As for the smart bombing, I am surprised it didn't happen before now, in any newsworthy manner, but now it has we can expect to see more of this tactic as others try to grasp from what few PLEX they can. The report on todays manhunt: Provists Ina Okonada and Aikabinen Unijila defeated at Torrinos
Not much of special note to report, capsuleers showed up & killed the Provist taskforce. The one thing of note is something to keep in mind however. The Provists have changed targetdoctrine, they now went for high value ships first, causing the loss of some expensive ships.
Once more a smartboming ship appeared, but it acted oddly, It arrived after the fight was over, and detonated in the dispersing capsuleer fleet, causing only a handful of losses. Motivations of the pilot unknown., Dragonaur capsules were gone for a while by then. Seems like someone ejected corpses right before Inu went down to throw off people waiting to grab her anticipated biomass.
I also happened to catch the smartbombing Rokh in the act.
Not sure what the Dragonaurs hope to achieve by wasting these ships and the crew onboard. Killing a few random capsuleers and sitting 100km off a Home Guard station hardly seems like a good use of their resources.

I would have agreed with you there, if not for the timing, various reports indicate he detonated the Rokh Smartbombs when most of the fleet was dispersed, causing much less collateral damage then if he did it during the fight or the PLEX podkill scramble.
However, the Smartbombing Apocalypse of the previous Manhunt had this tactic down to the core! Provists Ina Okonada and Aikabinen Unijila defeated at Torrinos -á Caldari Navy organizes a manhunt on Provist Raiders!-á |

Is "coercion" the word you intended to use? Because I don't see the Provists being in any position to coerce Pandemic Legion, and on the flipside, although Pandemic Legion might well possess enough power and resources to do the reverse, the Provists have shown since their inception that they'd rather destroy everything to spite their enemies rather than be told what to do, even if the suggestions are perfectly sane ones. Depending on if the Kyonoke Pit rumour is true or not, I though coercion was an appropriate turn of phrase, but again, maybe you're right. I am just exceptionally pessimistic about the rationale behind supporting the Dragonaurs when they have their backs against the wall and assume that either their supporters know something we don't, or they were bribed quite convincingly.
A quick, if unreliable, update I just received suggests that the only reason they didn't kill those carrier was that the TD pilots wisely didn't disclose their intention to jump out after completing their objective - an occurrence without precedent in this sorry story (though one that seems so logical, don't you think?).
So, I am actually probably completely off the beaten track assuming prior knowledge of possible retribution or rewards offered - they were simply duped into protecting those vessels long enough that they got out, and the claims of support are face saving of a considerable scale.
Lots to think about, but the more I dig, the more likely it seems that the Dragonaurs finally started using some grey matter instead of trying to brute force their way through. CEO of the Achura-Waschi Exchange: An International trade corporation that adheres to State values. Intaki Reborn.

And so it ends in a massive showdown. 8 Provist capitals (7 Chimeras & 1 Wyvern) facing a 1000 ship strong capsuleer fleet. The fight was one final, last stand for the Provists as they lost one after the other capital under the relentless attacks of the capsuleer fleets.
More info can be found here: Dragonaur capital fleet defeated at Usi!
The Provist victory at Taisy did bolster their supporters; making them run campaigns of disinformation to keep people away and running terrorfleets of smartbomb ships. But in the end it wasn't enough, and the Dragonaur fleet perished under capsuleer might. Provist Taskforce succeeds at Taisy! -á Caldari Navy organizes a manhunt on Provist Raiders!-á |

Traitors, yes. May their ancestors not know them and may the Winds give them no peace. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? It really shouldn't have been necessary to point that out, but you have run afoul of the Cluster's whiniest self-medicating schizophrenic bottom.
Let's put the obvious answer aside. There is also:
Pandemic Legion is a mercenary organization, and was hired by the Provists for protective muscle; or,
Pandemic Legion is sitting on a mountain of PLEX, and wanted to protect the value of its investment by interfering with the ability of others to collect an unprecedented bounty; or,
Pandemic Legion was playing both sides of the fence to increase its supply of what mercenary corporations really value: kills; or,
Pandemic Legion despises high security space dwellers and wanted to taunt us with its ability to become immediately interesting in ways that only two or three other alliances can.
It is in fact not difficult to identify reasons other than "attention" an organization such as Pandemic Legion might have fun with Provist forces. I hope they find a way to continue doing so. |

Their handicap will never allow them to reach heights that Tibus Heth did, and all they have left is to scream with impotent rage. Their names will be forgotten soon, while name of Tibus Heth will live for millenia. Not that most of us wouldn't prefer to forget it. And how can he be a hero? Tibus Heth made meritocracy to work in the State. Tibus Heth removed nepotism. Tibus Heth took our planet back. Tibus Heth himself rushed to save a worker from under a fire, while no one else left the fortified barricades. Tibus Heth, while being a megacorp CEO and de-facto leader of the whole State, himself personally joined the battle for Caldari Prime and charged with MTACs among Caldari infantry into gallentean occupied city of Arcurio on Caldari Prime.
To be a hero means doing something necessary and extremely dangerous, but that stands outside of field of your competency. For example, when bodyguard takes a bullet, defending his contractor, this is not a heroism, this is professionalism. But when a forge worker jumps out to save just another worker under heavy fire, where he wasn't ordered, taught or instructed to do so, risking his life and inspiring hearts of peoples, this is the heroism.
And when he personally raised Caldari flag on Caldari Prime... well, you have to be Caldari to understand what we all felt.
