I am currently on a year-long Intelligence/Memory remap which I have nearly finished. Before I remap to Perception/Willpower, I am considering rounding up some skills in my current remap.
I do want to focus mainly on PvP and likewise financially supportive PvE activities like Incursions and - hopefully one day - wormholes, however I also want to keep this Char rather broadly skilled so I don-¦t mind training skills that are not of immediate use.
So, the question is: Are the following skills worth being trained to Level V?
Armor:
- All four Armor Compensation skills
Electronic Systems:
I currently have all skills to Level IV and Electronic Warfare to V. Are any of those skills worth training to Level V? ECM perhaps? What about Propulsion Jamming?
Rigging:
Again, all skills there at Level IV. Any real advantage of taking one or more of them to Level V? (Any super secret cookie-cutter fit that relies on Level V in some rig skill? )
Scanning:
- Astrometric Aquisition: Does anyone but the most hardcore wormhole dweller need that one to Level V?
Shields:
- As with Armor Compensation, are the four Shield Compensation skills worth it at Level V?
Targeting:
- The four Sensor Compensation skills.

All of those come under the "Nice to have, but..." category except prop jamming V which IIRC you need for dictors/HICs Here is my CSM9 endorsement list - vote for diversity of expertise : Ali Aras-á Mangala Solaris-á Mike Azariah-á Steve Ronuken James Arget-á Xander Phoena-á Sugar Kyle-á corbexx-á mynnna-á progodlegend-á Psychotic Monk-á Jayne Fillion

Armor:

If you are an armor tank and use use EANM, or are a capital pilot, yes.
I'm primarily a shield tank pilot, but I have all the armor skills to 5.
Electronic Systems:

Propulsion Jamming 5. I have 2 days left on it *\o/* Required for hics/dics.
The rest at 4, unless you are an ECM pilot, then I'd train all ECM skills to 5.
Rigging:
Again, all skills there at Level IV. Any real advantage of taking one or more of them to Level V? (Any super secret cookie-cutter fit that relies on Level V in some rig skill? )
Leave at 4 unless you have a fit that needs them.
I have Launcher Rigging 5 because I had a really niche fit that required it, without a cpu implant.
The weapons rigging skills are really fitting skills.
Scanning:
- Astrometric Aquisition: Does anyone but the most hardcore wormhole dweller need that one to Level V?
Level 4 is fine unless you are a combat prober.
Shields:
- As with Armor Compensation, are the four Shield Compensation skills worth it at Level V?
As above for armor.
Targeting:
- The four Sensor Compensation skills.
[/b]
If you don't train them to 5, you can never complain about being jammed by ECM. |

Pretty much what Tau said :) I would put the Armor Compensation skills above Shield however, because they are more likely to actually be used, They used to give a bonus to an inactive Active Shield Hardeners/Invulns, but that was removed, so unless you are specifically using the passive modules for shield they are pretty much useless. |

I mostly agree, however EM shield compensation to 5 is the most likely to be used, as it is common to fit an EM amp when a hardener just won't fit.
