When all of Eve is safe from bot-aspirancy and bot-aspirant behaviour, then James can walk away with any isk remaining in the New Order treasury, and it will still only be a fraction of what he deserves for his efforts in saving Eve and making New High sec a better place for all.
Until then, there is no reason to walk away, the New Order generates unlimited content for Agents and Rebels alike. Some people value content over isk, for those, the content generated is worth far more than the New Order treasury could ever hold. On top of that, if you assume that the New Order is in fact a ponzi scheme, which you are welcome to believe if you wish, as long as the isk continues to flow in faster than it flows out, there is zero reason to walk away. Tengu Grib > I agree. The distinct lack of quality spaceships makes RL the worst space sim ever.

I have sold six mining licenses, and bought 60 shares with the 60m isk. I have received over 200m in reimbursements in the last 3 weeks, and with loot I am slightly up on the deal.

That would be an epic ending to a career of public service.

It was my understanding that, on the occasion of her summary dismissal from our ranks, Erotica 1 sent all her/his/it? ISK to James 315. That was an amount in the very many billions of ISK.
I only need about 77000 ISK though. |

My eve experience from rags to riches has taught me that ISK is essentially worthless. It pretty much falls out of the sky on command. Also his spending on the reimbursement program shows he's unlikely to run off with it, since the amount he receives likely only barely covering the expense of running everything. It's only the recent large donations that put him in higher numbers, but even this amount is hardly worth running off with.
Perhaps space-poor individuals have a different view, but I've found that even making ISK a normal way (i.e not gambling) is so **** easy that it's almost worthless to steal at the amounts were talking about.

The problem with this thread is that no-one has anything in the way of evidence, and everyone is arguing what they want to believe. Detractors want to believe that James 315 is a scam artist waiting for the right time to cash out, and the New Order want to believe that he is too devoted to their cause to do such a thing.
Here's the truth: he'll cash out when his desire for the ISK surpasses the motivation against it. All else is speculation. |

Here's the reality: Most of us don't care whether or not James is running an elaborate scam. We donate to keep the NO going and help out newer members. If he walks off with the money at some point, more power to him. In the meantime we get funny blog posts, free catalysts for new members, and a bunch of fun. I don't think anyone in the New Order would really feel that betrayed if the treasury disappeared, just sad that it was over. Anything else is belief and speculation.
I personally don't believe James is scamming considering his past experience with it. At the time it was the biggest scam at around 35bill. The eve bank scam was ongoing at that point and was significantly larger. If you truly don't know why I don't think hes scamming currently based on past experience, I suggest you look into the outcome of the Currin Trading incident. I'll give you a hint. He didn't make a cent. Quote:I lied. I cheated people. I used people to help me scam their friends. I was the cause of widespread bankruptcy. But the most damning thing of all? I think I can live with it, and if I had it to do all over again, I would. To my surprise, a guilty conscience was a small price to pay for thirty billion isk. So I will learn to live with it, because I can live with it. I can live with it, but... He kept the money. He just justified it to himself by drawing attention to the Eve Intergalactic Bank scam.

Dear Ms. Miulan,
The Bene Minmatar Sisterhood has already published a preliminar report on James 315. Please navigate to https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=337577 to read its summary.
Our studies mainly tackle the religious aspects of this phenomenon - such as the messiahship complex - but I concur that a psychological profile would be key to provide insight to strategists and planners.
In summation, although our report is not a study solely focused on James 315's persona and its psychological manifestations - or lack thereof, we do explain away one of the fundamental aspects of his character: the messiaship complex, and his perverted vision of a Mankind where concepts such as Betrayal, Awoxing, Ganking, and Murder will be paramount. |
