The IC editorial team has finished reading all applications for Interstellar Correspondents and selected seven correspondents to start with. Each of them has been sent email notification, as well as those who were not selected this time. We hope for a swift reply from the selected seven so we can get started bringing the rest of you news from around the EVE universe from the people who inhabit it.
We thank everybody who participated and hope this endeavour will turn out to be fruitful.

Hello,
Sorry to have to raise this concern, but my email address has changed since the time I applied. I moved last week, and had to change ISP's as a result. Incidentally, I haven't received any notification one way or the other yet. I updated my information under account management in the middle of last week.
Hope all is well, and congratulations to all successful applicants.

Assuming they can get to the news through the Superhighway systems to report on it without getting stuck
This was the only thread on the first page of the forums which wasn't about lag/CTD's, can't have that.

Alas things got in the way and I missed the submission deadline, which makes me even more gagging to read the other submissions :-)
I guess it must be very close now, judging by the latest news item:

Hi all.
The reporters have now been granted roles and given instructions on how to use the system and should start reporting soon...

Any chance there'll be another round of applications in the future, because I'd still quite like to do it if any places become available. And if so, would previous applicants get priority :P

Yes we will do another round of applications in the future. It's too soon to say when. I don't think previous applicants should be favoured, it would be better to have everybody sit at the same table.

My first article has been posted.
t0rfi, is it intended that the in-game news interface dosen't display each reporter's name, as it does in the website news?

t0rfiFrans, there is a Problem with the news, there isnŠt a history for older news! This has to be changed very soon!
By the way, some of the IC-news are too long for the News. I think, that IC-news should be posted on another place, like the Scope-Forum.

Torfi, looks like you have assembled a fine crew there (mostly). I am sure that we will soon be reading all sorts of great stories from around the eve universe. Good luck to you all.
However, it troubles me that you have chosen a corporate thief such as Yangja Isuko to your team. I would not think that such an integrity-rich program such as "Concord Interstellar Corespondents" would hire corporate thieves, no matter what their last name was. Perhaps I am wrong.
A few months ago, Yangja (using the alt Estrol Da'Aak)attempted to steal our original Bestower BP. His con line was "Hey, pal, I am a noob with that science skill, and I want to try out some research! Can I use that Bestower BP" I ended up giving him the EM ammo BP and he promptly left the corp. Months later, I hear Yangja bragging on IRC about how he had "infiltrated" Oberon as Estrol Da 'Aak. Reeeeal smooth 007.
So I feel better now that I got that off of my chest. And I hope you all are a little smarter.
Peace

Personally I think having players at all as news reporters will lead to nothing but biased opinions, traps and misinformation. Not a very well thought out idea.
BUT, if CCP thinks they can make this work then I'll give it a week or so to see how things work.

Hey. For crying out loud....
The Scope came - everyone loved it - then someone (no names mentioned) whinged and whined about it, and it got canned.
so - now, to keep Polaris "independent and unbiased" they have introduced player-reporters (like the Herald system - anyone remember that from <unnamed> mmorpg?)
i think that player reporters is perfect :) and will be applying for the second round (as long as its not too soon) -----

Edited by: Yangja Isuko on 24/09/2003 08:33:24 Halseth: as you may well remember, the entire thing was done in an RP fashion, and the infiltration was done as part of an Event as you well know.
I do not wish for any bad blood to exist between us and if you indeed wish to be reimbursed you may contact me and we will agree on a reimbursement.
Again, i would not wish to be likened to a simple corporate thief (in which case i would have obviously waited till i could steal just about everything). So if Oberon wishes to be reimbursed, please contact me.
also, incidentally to make sure there are no misunderstandings about that which should be reimbursed, i was granted a bestower BP *copy*.
Again, my apologies if this incident seemed OOC to you or if there are any hard feelings, but you must understand that i simply *had* to mention it to you, what fun is it if nobody knew i did it? :)
