Edited by: oooojk on 13/05/2006 10:45:01 ...a megathron ?
I've seen the price on market at about 110 M.
I roughly calculated the cost of minerals to be 75 M... I got no idea how much a copy for 1 run would be. Is it worth the effort to try and buy some cheaper minerals and build a BS....or should I just buy one outright ?
(ooojk ?? wth... i dont have a char with a crappy name like that... lol this is Diemex)

You should check around a little in different regions. In The Citadel they are available for 99M, and there might be even cheaper regions.
I think ive seen blueprint copies for raven for about 2 or 3 million on escrow, so a megathron copy can probably be found for about the same amount. --- The Eve Wiki Project |

I dont produce much or often but 75mill strikes me as very cheap mineral cost for a tier2 bs.
If you do the sums do them properly, one small mistake can throw you out by millions.

75mil sounds like an error. I build dominixes for a 4mil profit margin, I can't imagine the margin for megathron would be significantly higher. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Teles666 on 13/05/2006 12:22:46 I doubt people make 25m on a mega, all t1 is very tight these days.
I would suggest you are looking at the base cost in the items database? You have to add into that your skills and the production efficiency of the BPO/BPC you are using.
I don't know what skills and PE you would need to match the figures in the DB but I imagine they are quite high.
IF you can get minerals cheap enough to make one for 75m though - build 4, keep one for yourself and sell the other 3 to pay for your minerals :)

I have to say the 75m for mierals was a guess. I was counting on being able to secure minerals at 40% below regional price.
To do that I would place buy orders in 'noob' systems. I know my first week I was selling / reprocessing / selling without a clue. I'm sure I sold minerals under 50% region repeatedly.
I was counting on taking advantage of that.... but I dont know how long it would take to get the minerals. (I could also place buy orders for civilian modules in noob systems and reprocess them myself.)
I might try one just to see how cheap I can do it.... If it works out then yes... I'll make a few and sell em for profit. I'm not really in a hurry.... I like my thorax.

If you can build it for 75 mil go for it.
In theory your technique would work but you have to compete with all the other people buying minerals as well, which might force you to raise your buying prices.

Paying 110mil for a Megathron is insanity. Look around for a bit, perhaps even advertise a little in Ships channel and you can easily get one for 90mil with free delivery. ------------------------------------------------ I buy/sell any and all faction ships. 90m?!?! thats nuts.
last I figured at market rate of minerals it cost like 92m... and I don't get the impression Production efficiency 5 over 4 makes enough that its a good idea to sell at 90m...
if I figured I could build a thron at 75m cost I'd definitely build it. but that sounds extremely low to me.
