So what are everyone's thoughts on the following:
Quote:Remove the ability for players to use stations to safely store their blueprints without putting them at risk in Starbase structures. Players will still be able to start their jobs remotely (via the use of Supply Chain Management and Scientific Networking skills), but will now have to move their blueprints directly into the starbase structures that require it, like other materials.
Does anyone else in the industry sector, actually find it a bit disturbing you won't be able to remote use the POS to start jobs and will be required to move their precious blueprints over to POSs? Anyone else think this may start pirates just sitting at stations blowing up any ships from corporations that have POSs in particular regions to see if there are any blueprints that will drop from them?
I personally think this change is fubar and crapt. It's like the whole point of running a large POS at 400 million ISK a month is wasted. Now I should go spend that 400m a month to run the POS for manufacturing as I do now, and then pay the station who knows what amount of money to get on research slots, which will increase exponentially the more people use the station for research. How much will it cost to research the BPOs in a station if building costs between 0%-14% of the final cost of a ship?
Can we honestly, get better changes to researching like manufacturing is with no more extra materials, and damage to modules like R.A.M. and R.dB? Seriously, I would think there is a better way to do this than make me unlock all of my BPOs in order to allow me to research or anything in my POS. |

There's another thread to discuss the changes. And no, I have no issue with it. ... because we needed another locked thread?
Moving BPO to POS doesn't worry me. You still have 24 hours to remove them upon wardec.
During that time you evaluate your opponents.
Possible strategy (there are many): * If they are formidable, you cancel all jobs and EVAC. * If there is doubt, you cancel all research jobs, and let high-value manufacturing continue. * If they are not a concern, you go on business as usual, perhaps just canceling research jobs and onlining hardeners. Of course you maintain a watch to make sure their membership doesn't suddenly change.
I've lost count of all the wardecs we've had over the years. I consider them all a serious threat until proven otherwise. I research my opponents, finding everything I can about them, typically while waiting for defensive module onlining timers.
To date there has been one serious threat that scared the begeezus out of me. I really thought we were toast, and prepared for the worst. However, our opponents were after easy ISK without opposition, so they ended the war within hours of it beginning.
As well, this is EVE. Once in a while you should fully expect your sandcastle to be trashed, your face forcibly ground into the remaining sand, and all your favourite toys broken or taken. Afterwards, you stand-up and dust yourself off, say "Well that was awesome!", and "We did all we could.". Then you grab a pail and shovel and start building another castle... but maybe this time with a moat and / or an escape tunnel. Challenges met. Fun had. Lessons learned. |

I am somewhat concerned that I won't be able to do remote jobs but entirely delighted that YOU won't be able to either. So it all balances out. Zappity's Adventures for a taste of lowsec. |

The shift will be toward producing BPCs to use in the towers. I'm jazzed that finally the log jam of ME research will be broken. It looks like there may be a flow-on effect as jammed hub manufacturing may be forced out my way due to increased costs, but I'm thinking it won't be all that bad when equilibrium sets in. Freight costs balanced against manufacturing costs says the nickel-shavers will find where they can get a point better profit. And anything that causes a disruption of the collective production chain will reward those with models designed to take advantage of the disruption.
