So for the past 8 months me and my 3 friends have been mining and stuff, gathering the money so we can move into WH space and get a POS established to make more money!
We gathered enough resources to buy us a full large fitted POS. Came into the WH system with a Orca, 2 Hulks, 2 Scanning Ships, a month of POS Fuel, and a bunch of random stuff for the corp hanger array. We scanned down a empty WH and did directional scanning and combat probe scans to verify the region was empty and began to setup a POS. Also the entrance to this WH was in 0.5 space on a dead end system with no one in it, so the likelyhood of people coming in was small.
We successfully arrived in the system and brought in the Orca and a hulk inside of it and then a few other ships over the course of a hour, then the final hulk arrived and the WH collapsed leaving us in the system. We began to setup the POS on a random moon, and kept scanning the system for activity.
The POS was anchored and about to come online and suddenly from no where a blob of ships came in and basically raped all of us. Little did we know another corp found the WH and left a cloaked ship in the system, which spotted us trying to move in, when they were prepping to move in themselves... So now I'm left with the fact that everyone we have is destroyed and about 2.5 billion ISK in losses.
We return to out station with not much in the wallets, nothing in the corp hanger, and everything to make money destroyed. We have our skillpoints, and pods, and around 50 million ISK combined.
So yeah... EVE is a fun game to play and I don't complain really, but yeah... I thought I had the risks low, all the angles covered and went "ALL IN". Result? Lose everything.
So yeah I now leave this game to skill train before the sub expires and return another day, I'm totally EVEed out. |

what class WH?
By raped do you mean they actually reinforced your POS? Did you not have stront? No dialog with them?
We need more to do, not more to wear. Let me know when-áCCP has decent content a casual player can access in a 1-2h play period that is actually fun and contributes to long term personal and corp goals. |

It was a class 2 wormhole accessable from high sec.
We started to move in and checked the system for activity and found no one, in the hour it takes to anchor and online the POS they killed us. If we got the POS online, we would of been able to hold our ground against the fleet, we had turrets and stuff all waiting to be deployed once it went online. |

We kinda played casually for the most part and then got the resources to start the WH POS. We figured since its a class 2, and high sec that we would be safe from anything major that could break the POS build we made since they would be more focused on higher class of WH. we hoped by the time something major came around, we would of had made enough to take the loss and keep going. |

Well this is why : A: you don't move everything in straight away. First you set up the pos while "guarding" it with some combat ships. When it's set up with defences online as well, THAN you bring in the fancy stuff like orca's and mining barges/exhumers. There is no reason why you should bring in such ships before the PoS is fully set up.
B: Never fly / set up (?) what you can't afford to lose.
I can understand your frustrations but the thing is, you're never safe enough in EVE. Even if you think everything should go smoothly it can go wrong, everyone learns that lesson one day or an other, unfortunately you learned it by losing a lot. -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

Well with A, we would of loved to do that but it was a super small corp and we never found the ability to trust anyone but us, and we figured we could get away with it.
And with B, we could afforded to lose everything if we had more time. :P |

Well for now, we kinda just give up and rage quit eve for now and come back another day, we are tired of EVE from the self money making and really wanted to see this "leap" to succeed. Since it's failed we really have no motivator.

When you go 'all-in', you're risking everything -- so you should expect that you may lose everything. Even when you have an ace-high flush, someone will eventually come along and slap you down with a full house.
Sucks, but that's how the game is played. |

When Apocrypha came out, a buddy and I set up shop in a wormhole. Neither of us could fly blockade runners and we'd dumped almost all our combined disposable isk in a faction tower and whatnot. Onlining it (and subsequently unanchoring it several months later when some badguys moved in) was a pants-crapping panicky nightmare, what being so (comparatively today) poor at the time.
If you ever do this again, bring a blockade runner and a cloaky prober. Drop the tower and cloak while it anchors. Now that it's anchored, fuel it enough for a few days (to save you from countless trips back and forth for weeks worth of fuel + stront) and cloak while it onlines. Once your entrance collapses, get your cloaked prober to probe out the fresh new one and mobilize your guys to the empire system the hole now opens into. Now warp your dudes and all your ships/modules/luggage/animes to the POS and proceed to get your jew on.
Moving all your guys/assets in before the POS shields have even gone up can go pretty badly, hth! |

You also have a new level of appreciation for the dangers and dynamics of wormhole space and an experience trying to set up a POS there that you can learn from. The odds are now extremely high that you will be successful next time you try to set up a POS in a wormhole because you know what to look for, you have the experience you need to be able to think through the event and figure out a safer way to do it. For example, maybe the best approach is to get the POS onlined before you bring in expensive stuff or maybe you should have watched dscan more regularly or posted a guard at the entrance or maybe wormholes with static hi sec entrances are too crowded. There are many possible conclusions you could reach by working through your experience. You're now in a much better position to figure out the best way to do it than you were a day ago. That's valuable experience that puts you way ahead of many people in eve. |

Heres your problem. You were moving ships into the system and you didnt even have a safe place to put them. Were you just ejecting from them in space? o_O

A few pointers, that I don't see posted all that often:
1. Wormhole systems with a highsec static are ganks waiting to happen. You are going to get unwanted visitors all the time. If you must have a 1 jump route out of wormhole space, a system with a lowsec static will be considerably safer to do business in. While you do sacrifice a little security on your way to market, you have to look at it like so: "If I'm not ready to move through lowsec, I am not ready for wormhole space."
2. The most secure and profitable ventures over the long term will be those based from Wormholes with statics leading to other wormhole systems. This gives you a virtually inexhaustible source of sites to farm, and also has the benefit that since most (not all!) Wormhole gankers and small corps looking to set up, only go in 1 wormhole system deep, your base is a bit safer from casual pests.
3. Dedicated wormhole pvp corps will find and attack you anyways, no matter where you are, so be prepared for that eventuality. |

So you went into a wh with out.
armed guards with 15+ ships.
people in there on a daily basis scanning.
All of your assets at one time?
The only thing that shoudl have been in the wh when anchoring the pos was 2 cloaked haulers and nothing else till the tower came online. |

Options for the OP:
1. Next time scout the WH a bit longer and see who is already in there, what systems it open to (low, 0.0, etc). Some WHs are seldom visited, others are highways. 2. Look at your lossmails and consider something more exciting than mining: seeking total revenge on the rat bastages that attacked you.
In the second option, you must ask yourself: now that I lost so much, what do I have to lose? You should consider making the people who did this to you extremely sorry. Beleive me, just the effort alone is going to be enough and if they seem like the sorts who want trouble now, they might not want it later. If they turtled up in the WH you can use locator agents track them down when they visit known space. Chances are they will want to sell stuff in high sec - so you might even be able to camp the trade hubs and see when they put a hauler in.
Imagine this: some months from now you gank their hauler full of $loot$.
Revenge is well within the game mechanics.
Of course you can quit the game and nothing will change and nobody will have any fun. There are times when even I will say "WoW is that way --> "
What happened to you on that level is not as common as people think, but since you are already playing a game, then make a game of it and swear revenge!!1!!
The PVP door is open, step through it before you get vaginosis.

Don't anchor what you can't afford to lose and replace!
1. Get into a cheap T1industrial with a cloak. Carry a control tower and 2 hours of fuel. 2. Start anchoring control tower. 3. Move away from the control tower (warp to a safe-spot) and cloak. 4. Wait for the control tower to anchor.
5. Put the 2 hours of fuel into the control tower. 6. Set the forcefield password. 7. Set the forcefield to allow corp. 8. Online the control tower. 9. Move away from the control tower (warp to a different safe-spot) and cloak.
10. Wait for the control tower is online and force field is active before moving-in anything else.
Don't bother trying to move-in until the force field is up to protect you!
I've been attacked in an Orca while loading ammo into turrets when setting-up. The few turrets I had loaded and online shredded the attackers.
Tip: Make sure to scan the system with a combat probe or deep space probe to make sure it is empty before moving-in. |

Dude, I'm sorry.
Really, it sucks hard, I've seen this happen before, even lost a lot myself. NEXT time, set the pos up, have everyone sitting there on Defense, AFTER it's up, move in the orcas etc.
Anchoring will be MUCH faster come winter. Setting up a wh is a multiple day affair and it takes real patience! GL! Repair Drones should be able to repair anyone ... really, they should. -áThink of them as the first targetable subsystem if you're worried about PvP and for missions if someone wants Rep drones over a flight of Hobs, who cares. -áThere is no reasonable objection here other than it's always been that way (so was RR until recently). |
