Refrence?

Prices could go up because... - lots of people who didn't have the standings will now put up POSes - many new attractive moon location make it more attractive to have a POS - many people will come into industry to check out the new expansion, some will put up POSes - fuel requirements for jump drives increase
Prices could go down because... - with unlimited slots there's no need to have a POS for ME research - with fast copy times the blueprint market can become much more efficient, less blueprints are needed overall and therefore the value of research drops - with many more manufacturers, researchers, inventors the profits will decrease, causing some of them to quit again - using a POS may not be worth it in saved taxes and slight advantages in manufacturing and research compared to the fuel cost and investment+risk
Overall I think they will go up at first, then stabilize at a higher level than now. But it won't go sky high because at some point it becomes unprofitable to have a POS and demand for fuel will decrease again. |

Well CCP expects for prices to go down which does make sense considering that tax in npc station comes to 0.2-0.4% (its 1.1x) in end product price and all else is the same regarding installation costs thus removing the need for POS (unless you NEED faster production) and with infinite lines at poses people can move from large pos to medium or small and still do the same thing thus almost halving the demand for POS fuel.
Increasing ice usage for jump drive thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=340420 This: Stimulate the isotope (and therefore ice) market to help cushion any drop in demand from players using smaller starbases after the science and industry slot changes. |

Pos will provide not only significantly faster research, copying, and invention, but lower cost of taxes, AND a 2% reduction in material usage for manufacturing, on top of everything else. This means that working out of a pos will still not only be worthwhile, but essential for maximizing profits for large scale builders.
However, a lot of people who currently use large towers will likely downgrade to mediums or smalls. This will have a moderate effect on isotope prices, even with the increased jumpdrive consumption, but should have a drastic effect on the price of PI pos fuel. |
