Please stop trying to have freighters nerfed by adding slots.

Rig drawbacks do that fine themselves. Hyperspatial optomizers are going to eat up armor points making you more vulnerable to ganks. Armor rigs will make you harder to gank, but will slow you down considerably. We're winning the war if it says so on CAOD! -á

There is a good chance that if freighters get slots and rigs they will have the same amount of cargo and tank when full or expanded cargohold II modules and 3 T1 cargohold optimization rigs. The Charon might get a small nerf because of T2 cargohold optimization rigs. -á --á |

It does not. If rigs were introduced, cargo space, hull, armor, agility and speed would have to be taken away to compensate. This would make freighters without rigs a lot worse than they are now, and with rigs only marginally better for horrendous price tags. If you don't believe that just look at the recent dev blog surrounding drones, and especially the fighter/bomber part. |

Freighters do not need more capacity. what they are at now its pretty perfect. If cargo rigs for freighters became a thing, then its base cargo bay should be nerfed such that with 3x T2 cargo rigs, the maximum cargo for a Charon is 999k m3.
Likewise, i feel freighter warp speed is right where it should be. So if they got rigs, its base warp speed should be changed such that having 3x T2 hyperspatial rigs gives u the same warp speed as freighters have now.
Now that ur idea is implemented, u can now max fit for cargo and carry about as much as u could before but with a slower warp speed. Or, u could fit for warp speed to warp as fast as u could before, but with a reduced cargo hold. Or u can mix up ur three rigs. But u will never get a freighter as good as it is now. its perfect.
Just think of the changes the Orca would receive as compensation if its mods and rigs were to be removed. It would get a cargo bay expansion, massive HP buff, a speed buff and an inbuilt mining bonus bonus. These would be necessary so it could still complete the jobs it could before. Without mods and rigs, it forces CCP to buff it to do all these jobs at once seeing as the player has no options. To do the opposite, and give something mods and rigs where it didnt before, the opposite happens to compensate for its new options, and to prevent players from going beyond particular limits.
So nah, freighters are in a brilliant place. They certainly don't need nerfed.
