i know some very young people play this game, so there is no excuse for using foul language in a public chat, it just shows a limited vocab, if u want to sware at them, do it in a privert chat

They probably not only know more foul language buit also use more. I agree that it should be limited, as it does show lack of immagination and manners.
Ps. I AM aware of the irony of me making this statement so ... F... ok fine, so why do you not go take a hike?

Does EVERY OTHER TOPIC in the forums have to be about ore thieves? So much attention to easily the most pathetic existence in the world of EVE.

Seriously, who cares, try running missions for 6 agents at once, and tell me you are not challenged... the logistics are such a PAIN.

Edited by: Kalhan on 22/09/2003 12:05:37 DEATH TO MINERS!!! Lol
If your going to threating an ore thief do it right. I docked back, put on 3 Tacyons and 4 Heavy Beams, warped back waited for him to come back in, let him think it was safe watched him laugh as we threated him, then hit all 7 Fkeys and killed his indy from 22K away in one shot from each gun. Warped out to the sun before the as the cops warped in. Waited 15mins to be safe then want on with life. Now he is looking for a new indy. I invite any ore thief to come try and laugh at us in our belts.
And I invite any miners to shoot at my alt when he takes ore. (just do it right or not at all)

I've had many problems with LaneHacker too. I convo'd him and politely asked whether he would be interested in joining my corp. To which he replied "No, i dont like that" and then proceeded to blow up my cans of ore for no reason. When i insulted him for destroying my ore he acted as if it was me who was the aggressor and tried to take the moral high ground. I would not have had a problem if he was a real pirate who had done this to me in and area where i could actually do something about it, but was obviously too scared to go and play with the big boys.

I think this is indeed very friendly written for a pirate. You didn't go along on his protection scheme.. and therefor you suffer the consequences. That's the way a pirate _should_ act ofcourse. He's acting his pirate character in a very good manner.

In theory i have no problem with the idea of ore thieves, but what i dont like hearing about is this happening to nOOb players. It should be made possible for new players to get a good grounding in the game b4 they have to deal with ore thieves. As for the more experianced players i have little sympathy mine in a 0.4 system or use secure containers.
But there must be some way to protect new players with out the experianced player taking advantage of the situation.
New players are the future of this game and its already hard for them as theyve got alot of catching up to do.

Noobies doesnt mine with Foating Cargo containers. they mine their cargo full and fly back to base. Typical carebears argument for hiding the exploits

Isn't that one of the reasons people joint a Corp? ________________________________________________

First of all I wish to thank all the players that supported me and in this matter. You have really triggered me to continue my subscription and to view the game play from another perspective.
My corporation have encouraged me to play a more passive role in this matter and I will not continue along The Path of Aggression, nor here or InGame.
This has opened up for a raise in attention for several players and corporations to increse their use of Secure Containers (if I only could get the pwrds to funtion properly) and other counter meassures to prevent ore thiefs.
Some users have asked if "all threads have to about ore thiefs". My reply to that is that I rarely use the forums since I've never encountered such things before. I think of the forums to get A's to Q's and to warn other players such as myself.

I am not sure but I think there is a reason that they keep the archive of past posts so others may go back at read them.

for now the only way is to go page by page. And you don't have to go far to find a topic on ore thieves. You can even go the the other forums, EVEN THE MARKET forum and find one. It isn't very hard for those that are looking.

Quote: Edited by: corporal hicks on 22/09/2003 10:53:50 it is amazing to me how ore thiefs can tell us they steal in high sec systems because the corporations there are richer than the ones in low sec.
What a load of crap all they do is hide behind concord. And as for the people who try to get money from people for destroying there cargo cans again the thieves hide behind concord.
Ore thieves are the lowest form of griefer in this game. they have no brains no courage no idea how to use any ship other than a industrial...the large ammount of high slots on cruisers confuses them or something.
So you're telling us that people using Thoraxes, or any other type of Cruiser, or even a Battleship to mine in high-sec space don't have much ISK?
What the hell?
Likewise, gobbling up all the Ore in newbie space is considerably worse than taking it from "experienced" players.

Lanehackers are pirates in FreeLancer. You use warp tunnels to get around and Lanehackers shoot the things that make the wrap tunnels in the middle to disrupt them so you drop out of warp in the middle of no where.
Like other people have said this is a PvP game and if you want to be a pirate you should be able to. What need to be changed tho is that shooting cans is an aggresive act so that Pirates can only really operate in the out reaches of space.

Not every human being that drives a Ferrari has millions in their bank account.
Secondly. Why risk being attacked in low security areas when one can earn a living of mining in safer areas?

Make this apply to _secure_ cans only, or implement the hacking skill alongside this change, and it'll be a happy medium.

So you think that someone who has a Ferrari has completely neglected everything else just so he can afford that car?
That's utter crap.
In EVE if you can afford a Mining Battleship, or Cruiser, and eight Harvester Drones...you can afford to replace it. You can afford to go to your Corporation (Which many of these "big time" Miners are usually a part of) for a replacement.
For your second point....if miners don't have any risks when it comes to strip-mining newbie Ore in high security space, why should Ore thieves have any risks for taking this Ore from said strip-miners?

Not my fault I was born in 1987.
You poor dear. 1987 was at the arse end of the 80's music wise i.e. SAW [Stock, Aitken and Waterman] hell, Brother Beyond, Bros, Rick Astley .. ugh. I cannot even think of any decent corresponding films or literature at the time. You missed out on New Wave - except it's made a come-back here in the UK. Every, single female is wearing 3/4 length jeans with bright, yellow heels, asymetrical new wave hair and diagnonal black/white tops. Very Debbie Harry. Except without the smack, which is a good thing kids - New Romantics, John Hughes (Bratpack) films starring Ms Prom Queen herself, Molly Ringwald and last but not least, old skool computers like the Vic20 with its awesome 4.5k! ROARRRRRR!
Note: I quite like Blondie's 'Rapture', if we're talking revivals here.
Oh Good Lord! 1987 - the year Top Gun was released. Man. That says it all about '87. I've not even mentioned the horror of Puff-ball dresses yet.
I apologise for going wildly off-topic, but the simple solution to this thread was old skool technology i.e. pencil, paper, write down offender's name and then dock due to rolling on the floor laughing at empty threats to 'pod' an entire corp - especially if you're stealing ore in a high sec Empire Space.
