Hrmm, I've always wanted a pair of Flares, personally. And an afro. Seriously!
Mebbe I'll go see if Kazaa has any of the music you mentioned...
Hell, I wonder if my Mum still has a pair of Flares somewhere.

This just goes to show you they need to allow people the right to respond to hostile action without CONCORD response in empire space.
Whether you or your property is attacked (cans) its hostile and you should be able to freely respond.

The problem is, CCP doesn't belive those cans are yours unless they are secure.
As for my thoughts on ore stealing... I think it should be allowed, but I don't like people hiding behind n00b corps to do it. If someone in a player corp does it, you can start a war against them to get your vengeance.
Anyway, if CCP tried to fix it they'd likely just introduce a new bug. --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

1) Ore thieves are loosers who just hide behind attractive terms, like role playing, PvP, or hide behind CCP/Concord.
2) Ore thievery will last until CCP finally makes messing around with cans an offensive action, with sec loss, ability to retailate and all.
3) I dont exactly know how bad the given conversation was, but people who prey on defenseless / innocent players have no rights at anything in my eyes. They are plain grie*ers. CCP warning players for expressing their anger towards said grie*ers, no matter how rude they were is just a bad joke.
Basically thats about it. I could rant for ages, but i will not.. i simply note the name of those who i catch stealing, and will deal with them later. Until then, i just wait for CCP to fix law system in EVE, and will be laughing loud when ore thieves realize, their time is up. ------------- This post is nothing more than my personal opinion. It does not represent the official standpoint of Fountain Alliance, or the HUN Corporation in any way. ------------- |

Quote: Does EVERY OTHER TOPIC in the forums have to be about ore thieves? So much attention to easily the most pathetic existence in the world of EVE.
Rising Sin, because of this topic I have successfully dented my desk banging my head against it in resignation.
Yet while dented, the desk still refuses to break. Pretty much like the brick wall these people complaining about ore thieves keep running headlong into.

if your read the dev chatz you might learn tha CCP is not likely to fix. they said there that non-secure cans are meant for jetisoning crap. they all say that putting u stuf in a non-secure can is like putting it on the sidewalk for anyone to take. of course you dont like aggression against you. duh. but spaz out and lose it local? this is not chutes and ladders or candyland. people get to play robbers and stealers here, and many seem able to do it without being personaly abusive. sounds like you earned yer sanction, chalk it up to lesson learned n keep your perspective next time. |

This thread seems like sticky for a long time..
Oh. about the ore thieves! Soon, there will be anchorable defences, and yes, CCP intented from the start to make stealing a feature. Its just they didnt have patched the promised goodies yet. But soon, as I hear..

Well, heh,... how to begin.
At first I'd like to say that the starting post for this thread was definitely more entertaining as the larger number of posts you find about this topic on the boards. I like it when posts are written in character.
On an other note, I don't know what all the fuss there is about ore thieves. As someone above already stated - stealing is part of the game and was intended as such from CCP all the time. For all those that hate their ore getting stolen ( I count myself into that group too - who wouldn't) CCP gave us the secure cans for the time being until mobile refineries are in the game. When they are noone can complain anymore since single miners can use a giant can to store their ore for later transport and large corps can then feed their ore directly into the mobile refinery so their stuff is safe too, when the indy hauling it takes a little longer to get back for another run. I for myself haven't lost a single unit of ore to an ore thief up to now because I use the means to secure my hard worked for ore, that CCP provided. I sure would like to have a can with a capacity of 150k of ore (depending on its characteristics) but on a further note I just drop not one but lets say 5 giant cans and I can mine away until the 5-7 loads of ore for the indy are full and I take a break from the lasers to get it home. It's not so time efficient like an 'unlimited' can but that price I'm glad to pay for the fact, that my ore is safe. Well, I could write a lot more but I think that those ore-thief topics are already filling up the board enough so I just want to add, that everyone should take it a little more easy. It's a game and no ore-thief has been stealing your car, burning down your house or anything else so there should be no need to get verbally abusive. Nothing against smack talk.... tell them you are going to get them sooner or later but keep it on an at least decent level... the rules on this board are to protect the younger people, that are playing this game too. So we grown-ups should take at least this little responsibility in that matter :).
Just my thoughts on that matter ----------------------------------------------- The only reason for 'time' is so that everything doesn't happen at once. -- Albert Einstein -- |

Edited by: Robeyone on 23/09/2003 16:42:51 Okay here we go simple situation for you to test.
Take 10 dollars go to a police station drop it behind you and wait. As soon as someone picks it up start beating the crap out of them. See what happens to you. Now after you have been released from jail go back to that police station. Take a big safe put 10 dollars in it lock it and put it behind you. Now see if someone comes and picks it up. Simple enough I think.

Yeah, true...you were stupid enough to open fire in an area with Sentry Guns deployed, so that does kinda make you an idiot, right?
CCP fully sanction Ore "theft". Hell, even Secure containers won't be impenetrable later on down the line, not when the Hack skill comes in.

No, actually it was a well planned situation where I was suppose to end up as an ice cream floating around outside my old station. The one I fired upon was one of my fellow corpmembers. But what the heck? Why am I still around?

a)if you jetason any cargo you are warned that anyone can take it, therefore you can't say you didn't expect it to happen
b)CCP provid secure containers in nearly every system that you can perchase and use. so you all have acsess to a means of preventing this from happening
c)its not pirating if you pick up five pound note off the pavement that someones left there, (not saying droped thats different) so why is jettasoning cargo any different?
d)look up jetason (sp?) in a dictionary for what it realy means
thank you for reading, sorry if I insulted anyone last time
also may i point out to the thread starter, being abuseive in a pubilc channle is wrong, and doing so anywhere will get you in truble, if you had been abuseive in a public chan when I was there, i would of reported you aswell, even if you have just had your cargo exploded there is no excuse for being abusive and it is against the rules

To whom it may concern,
I'm sorry to report that Sweriskakka has left our corp. The decision was made by him self. He cleaned out his desk, dropped of his equipment and returned his Thorax to the corp. A small cermony took place after which he was released from The Griffin Corp. Sweriskakka then proceeded out in his own start-up ship, fired a single salute against a voulenteer from our corp which resulted in devastating fire from the Sentry Guns, quickly ending his vessel and his life.
Rest in peace, maybe weÆll see you again someday.
Thank you, The Griffin Corp

Yes because somehow some eejit has made this thread sticky (even tho it doesnt say it)...
If you look at post timing you will see that it has not had regular enough posts to maintain its #2 position on the General Discussion boards... but it never falls... it didnt have a singl post for 5 hrs yesterday and was still the #2 thread!
C'mon Mods wake up! Sort it out!

I've made it a sticky, then de-stickified (is that a word?) it. Perhaps that works.
Rather odd..
