Mercoxit crystals are royal pain in the bum to use. I don't mind if you make them twice as heavy and twice as expensive, but if they last twice as long it'll save me a lot of buggering about.

Think about what you just said for a minute.
Then answer the following questions.
Might there be a reason for that?
What would that reason be? signature |

I have no idea. Why don't you tell me what you're thinking rather than making a patronising comment. |

Tyvm.
But, if they were made twice as heavy and twice as expensive... couldn't you just carry twice as many right now? Or does chaning the spent crystals for new ones interrupt your poetry slam session? Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

It's not about carrying them, it's about the fact they break so fast when in use. |

If you have spares in your cargo hold it will auto-load them. Sorry that you have to be present to turn the laser back on.
Summer's expansion will see the crystals' weights decreased so you can carry more of them, also. |

I have 4 characters mining and I don't get an audible message when a crystal pops. I would be nice to have that at least. Not oo fussed about carghold because I can carry enough to pop the largest Mercoxit roid I find, between the 4 of us.

And zee answers are, in no particular order:
- because i am old enough that i can
- i know things
- since mercoxite is the least valuable ore you can mine and the least valuable stuff comes from refining it, it would stand to reason there should be some mechanic to offset those.. -errrm no zee other way aroud signature |

Yes. I'm a T2 builder so I need Morphite. Simple as. |

I'm guessing you don't mine.

it would be great if the made the crystals easier, like split them into 3-5 types instead of 16 unique.
T1, Balanced, low cap usage T2 ----High yield (30% bonus), low range (50% range reduction), high cap usage ----Mid-low Yield (30% reduction), Long range (50% range bonus), medium cap uasge Mercoxit T1+2 (Ice?)

That's a very interesting proposal. I'd be interested in seeing this looked at more closely. Nolen's Spreadsheet Guru Services: Need a spreadsheet created, maintained, updated or repaired? Learn more about my services at:-á https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3865379 |

It's a horrific proposal. I've already got enough trouble with my half a million non-stackable mining crystals. For the love of god, enough.

Those crystals (my idea) would be replacing the existing system. Removing the 16 types and their T2 variants for a slimmer approach with specialized options. no way would i recommend adding new mining "ammo" to the current cluster-F. |

His proposal would reduce the number of unique crystals down to under 10 (including T1 and T2). How does that make it worse? That reduces the amount of crystals you'd have. Well he did expand on the idea by editing his post, so actually I think it's kind-of good. If you couple it with CCP making a new list view that isn't stupid (capable of stacking things other than those with precisely the same properties across the board), it would work nicely. |

Since when has Weight mattered as to what you can carry.
Perhaps you meant "volume"? One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

I think they are fine. I put 4 in each ship (t2 merc crystals). They last thru a whole lot of mercoxit. Don't know exactly..but alot and not a pain at all. |
