I get this response from the GM:
Greetings,
Thank you for contacting the Customer Support Team.
Regrettably we in CCP Customer Support can not assist with recovering lost exploration complexes, no can compensation be provided for potential profits. Expeditions are designed to be completed in quick and rapid succession and they can end at any time, be it due to hitting a dead end or due to a time limit being reached.
No specific exploration complexes are guaranteed to last for very long so we can only suggest that you seek out new ones to make any profits you may desire. Thank you for your understanding.
Is it really the policy of this game to despawn escalation complexes right in the middle of a player run? My understanding was that the lockout should be extended 24 hours once you enter.
We entered this complex 3 hours prior to expiration and never left. For working professionals, 24 hours to complete an escalation is very restrictive. If one is received at night around 9 PM, that means that I only have maybe, 2 or 3 hours to get everyone there and have the 10/10 completed after work the next day. What if the escalation is 9+ jumps away in null? I can't believe this is the real behavior and think my escalation bugged. Anyone have any insight? |

I DID A 4/10 last night, went to last site, killed the web towers, had to warp out repair ship, my falcon was on the main gate, and my rapier IN the first room 10k off the gate to go 2nd room, i undock warp to first gate, boom it despawned, i contacted GM and i await a same reply as you i presume, GMs are here to be against you not to help you, they rub things in ur face,
i lost a proteus due to CCP client compltley crashing 3 of my accounts and i didnt lose any skill points(when u lose a T3 u lose skill points, but i didnt, so thers something dodgey there, not that im complaining, but i shudnt have lost that ship in the first place but they refuse to take the blame, .they still say nothing is wrong with the logs,
i was withing gate jump and not have wepon aggro and still they think i just loged out to save my ship, i been playing for 3 years and i know loging out does not warp ur ship off while pointed, the gms are a disgrace, nott to mention eve is just a bunch of graphic blocs and they treat people so cold
, like isk is their mother and they dont want to hand it over to u when u have a valid reason *insert swear word here* making plexing 3 accounts even harder when ur denied sites and lose ships |

Ty for the explanation. Does anyone know why the policy on expiration was changed? I don't remember reading about this in patch notes. was this long ago?

A few months. It was not a documented change either IIRC. As for why, speculation directed player toward CCP not wanting us to extend those sites over and over like some people were. |

AFAIK the resetting of the timer when you warp to the escalation was not by design. They wanted it to change that the 24h timer starts when you first enter the site for the first time. But somehow the timer starts when you get the escalation :(
So they changed it from broken to broken.
Before you could scan the last NPC rat with a cargo scanner and check what might drop. If it was something ****** you could run it again after DT. You could do this over and over again. That is party why they changed it. German blog about smallscale lowsec pvp: http://friendsofharassment.wordpress.com |

Interesting - I wonder if anyone has reported this as a bug? I'll check bug forums. If someone from CCP sees this, official confirmation will be nice. I'll also try to follow up with the CSM's. I understand not wanting the previous scanning behavior, but starting the time right when the escalation occurs kind of takes a lot of the fun out of these, especially if they've just going to disappear right while your fleet is in the middle of a room like mine did. At least make it so they persist while ships are inside the deadspace pocket? |

The problem is CCP is not distinguishing between unrated escalations which we can still timeshift, by doing the quick parts as we need the extension of time, and rated escalations from anomolies, which take much longer to complete, aren't multi segment and don't have a quick part and even if we make time for the long encounter the next day, its likely the escalation will despawn as we do them.
I'd presume (haven't got the sample yet), sanctums escalate at 4%, so someone spending ~13 hours on average to spawn up a ded 10, has a fair chance that even if they arrange a longer play session the next day, to not be able to do the escalation. They really need to think about what is happening to people investing the time in anomolies to spawn stuff.
A hell of lot could be fixed, just by making the escalation timer 26 hours. |
