The Eve pilot namespace is heavily reserved by unsubscribed accounts. Presumably Dust 514 character names will also have to coexist in this namespace. I can understand not deleting unsubscribed accounts as they might re-subscribe, but how about one or more of :
(1) Trial accounts never subscribed :
After 6 months mark the pilot names as 'vunerable'. If a new pilot is created and a 'vunerable' name is requested then the new pilot gets the name and the old pilot's name is flagged as requiring a new name choice when/if they re-subscribe.
(2) Accounts formerly with a paid subscription. If pilot has less than 3 mil SP :
as per (1) except "After 2 years mark the pilot names as 'vunerable'. ...."

In case someone is still looking at these, here's several really simple changes in the F10 map that would go a long way:
1. Please increase the transparency of region names by about 50% or more. Currently the letters are bright white on black background and really bad for the eyes when trying to use the map. I keep those off for that reason, though I'd really like to keep them on.
2. All system names displayed (could use several options: for current region, bordering regions, all regions). Sometimes I'm looking for a system and I remember approximately where it is and approximately how it's name is spelled, but not enough to use the search function.
3. Could the lines for the jb's be changed to dotted and the blinking turned off? Because the current display method makes things a little too busy.
4. I really like this new jb info being displayed, however it could use a little more development: the info-bubble for the system with the bridge should show the bridge and it's location. Well, maybe this one isn't so simple...

In the overview please thing about how you are using the "Large Collidable Object" tag for important interactive Mission items. Why not make a new tag "Interactive Mission Item" and "Mission Object"
For example my current mission has about 100+ large collidable objects in the room, this instantly makes the overview very difficult to use. I have turned off Large Collidable Object's in the overview for this reason, now imagine my mission is to try and activate a Locked Acceleration Gate which has been tagged as a large collidable object so its instantly difficult to find among all the other lines in an overview.
Mixing an overview tag mainly used for props with interactive mission items/mission objects seems like a very bad Idea to me. |

Hotkeys. Moar hotkeys! Some quick ones: - Launch Drones - Search for System to set as Destination - Target nearest wreck
Station Containers: - the fact that nothing in a container will show up in an Assets search is frustrating. - Why can't my manufacturing jobs pull out of containers? - Containers show up as a tab on the station services window, right next to Items (be able to drag it in/out into separate windows)
Be able to open a window that has all my current mission objectives, and their status. (Ideally I can select which ones to show in my mission Journal)
Show my current ISK at the bottom of the Neocom, somewhere near the date/time. |

A dialogue popup that says "do you REALLY want to log off while you are fleet boss??"
Fleet boss logging off and forcing the job onto an afk person is a pretty fast way to kill a fun fleet dead and also super easy to go into "sorry guys forgot I had boss, time to drop and reform the whole fleet" mode. |

Not sure if this thread is still being looked at, but it would be really neat if we could have per-ship orbit and keep at range settings, rather than have to change them everytime we change ships.
This would make me happy.

Warp to 200 km (or adjustable distance) from gate/station/.... I don't want to warp to 100 km and then slowboat the rest. And I don't want to make a zillion bookmarks. While you're at it: when leaving station give me an option to warp to a spot x km from the station (quick-exit). |

i.e as well as stating 'Claw' it should also be able to display 'Interceptor' , and even 'Minmatar' to those that want to see this.

When I first started playing, I organized my overview to have the information I cared about. I'm real fussy with my UI and screen real-estate. I set up my columns in my overview to take up the entire window region. I had no idea that the left over "gutter" region is where the ECM icons would show up. For the first 6 months of play, I'd try to warp out only to realize someone was scrambling me and I'd lose my ship. I never knew which ship it was. I never knew when it was happening. Little icons not appearing (no gutter space in my overview). Text windows in the middle of my screen that flip so fast, I can't read them. Log windows that scroll with more information than I can possibly read. Little jamming bars at the bottom of my screen that I'd never notice. I'm in a ship that can give audio alerts for shields/armor/hull damage, speak to me as it warps around on autopilot, why can't it speak or beep when I'm being scrammed or jammed?
What I would like is the ability to enable/disable audio alerts for important items that are only currently available through tiny visual elements in the UI. "You are unable to warp because you are being warp scrambled." The most terrifying thing Aura ever uttered, next to her incessant laugh when you were podded. I cannot stress this enough:

It would be awesome to have a selector for what screen to start the game on, at the login menu.
As it is today, you have to log one character in, then go to the second game and press escape and choose the other screen for that account. would be nice to have that option when you enter login & password.

In the character sheet under standings it would be nice to have a new tab "All Changes" or "History" Basicaly showing every one of your standing changes in a list much like the learnt skills history tab.

When flying through a system, I'd like the drop down menu for planets to display the planet type eg:
Jitter I (Lava) Jitter II (Barren) Jitter III (Plasma)
Etc.
This would seriously improve prospecting for setting up PI. Veteran of the Coalition of Free Stars Alliance-áand The Big Blue.

When scanning with probes the probe movement box highlights a pale blue for vertical and horizontal movement. Making the highlight a different colour for vertical and horizontal would be great. I keep moving mine the wrong way. |

On the character sheet the Augmentation and Attribute lists should be in the same order and the naming should be better so they are both easier to cross reference. |

Rethink all error messages and warnings. Biggest issue is the reply of a lvl2 agent to a noob that doesn't state what the problem is or how to solve it. Watch the rookie channel or trial account forum section. It's the single biggest problem new players have.
While you are on it rethink new player exp. as a whole. Instead of giving away free candy that they don't got the skills to use properly and showing them content they don't have use for, get them to where they need to be. How about the goal to get new players into a player corp withing 48h after signup? The game has a tutorial that gives you a mining laser and a railgun and tells you to go shoot rocks and red crosses. It teaches you nothing else. It's been that way for 8 years, so are you really surprised that there are people who aren't aware that this is a pvp game? --Jafit McJafitson |

Add bmks visibly to the tactical overlay much like the are already on the solar system map. Now that they are on personal or corporate level. And add a way to use them or not, check the box like the use overview settings on dscan. Color code them based on personal or corporate bmk level. Then give a warp to/warp squad to right click option. Strength isnt measured in numbers but in force of will. For if one motived willful individual stands many will fall around him that are weak.

Storyline mission count downs & warning pre accepting a mission of a different level.
Another one of those obscure arcane knowledge things seemingly there to trip up and discourage new subscribers while established players who are in 'the know' know how to track is when to expect the next storyline mission.
Present the storyline mission count downs within the UI. Say add another tab to the Journal.
Present a warning dialog -
This mission is of a different level to the previous mission(s) that you have accepted from this faction. If you accept this then it will reset your storyline countdown for this faction. 'Are you sure you want to accept this mission ?'

Some names, I'm thinking station names mainly, are very long and as a result setting the Overview columns to a sensible width truncates them.
Have a more restrictive name length policy (if there is one !) with regard to names and change (e.g. abbreviate) any that currently want to violate a reasonably generous Overview column width setting.
Or maybe for station names have two versions, a brief one for the overview and the current verbose one for Info dialogs etc.
e.g.
Misneden IV - Moon 2 - Federation Customs Testing Facilities
abbreviated version for overview :
P4-M2-FCTF
Obviously if there are to long and a short station names any search boxes will need to find on either. |
