You can see in the image that the mining laser is reflecting off of the initial asteroid and then impacting other asteroids. If such a mining laser system were developed on a new era of mining vessel such as the Venture II Class Frigate Miner the miner would be able to mine alot more ore in the same amount of time when mining normal ore.
When the reflected mining array is used the mining frigate would not be able to deploy drones as it would draw the available power from the bandwidth used by the drones.
The Reflected Mining Array would mine an additional 100 m/3 or ore per minute from each asteroid that it came into contact with.
The skill would allow more asteroids to be mined :
Level 1: one asteroid Level 2: two asteroids Level 3: three asteroids Level 4: four asteroids Level 5: five asteroids
The second skill would be for the module that would allow more ore to be mined
Level 1: 250 m/3 Level 2: 350 m/3 Level 3: 450 m/3 Level 4: 550 m/3 Level 5: 650 m/3
Another skill would reduce the cycle time
Level 1: 5 second reduction Level 2: 10 second reduction Level 3: 15 second reduction Level 4: 20 second reduction Level 5: 21 second reduction |

So basically you want to boost mining speed by an enormous amount and completely crash the mineral market.
Tired of paying 150m for a battleship and would rather pay 150k? |

Tired of paying 150m for a battleship and would rather pay 150k? Or miners would collectively choose to not deflate the mineral market and instead not have to grind 24/7 mining to make isk. Saying that this does seem a lot more self serving and complicated than it needs to be. |

They'd still grind 24/7 even if yield increased. However, given the fact that mineral requirements for each blueprint would not change, the extra influx of minerals would crash the market of everything you can manufacture and the minerals themselves. EVE is what happens when the rule of law does not apply and Darwinism is allowed to run freely. |

WEll, it was crushed upwards, and down and now back up and with that back down... I don't see a problem. Besides, no one complained when BS cost 90M. In fact, you could even make a good profit back then, quite in contrast to now. |

alternatively that blurry blob you're talking about, is just another mining ship. |

No. You're seeing how the game handles laser attachment points. There's a finite number per rock, and the other beams you're seeing are from another blurred out miner nearby. |

Because the thousands of mining bots littering highsec will agree to stop mining, amirite?

The visual effect would be cool, but would not be very practical in game.
This would make moving a ship/scanning asteroids, clicking a button to mine... just about every mechanism in mining pointless.
Now if you made it into some sort of mining superweapon... like on titans...
This actually would be pretty awesome.

If you want a taste of what EVE would be like with an idea like this in place, go play on SiSi.
Everything is 100 ISK there. Just like it would be on TQ after three months of this.
There is no risk. No loss. No consequence. |

Well given the fact of the inflated PLEX Price the ability to mine minerals needs to increase to augment the extremely bloated proportional market price.
Is the PLEX going to hit 1 billion isk?
Every time the poor elite find a better way to make ISK the wealthy elite find a way to steal it. |

Why do miners always complain that mining is so boring and unprofitable, and then come up with ideas to make it even more boring and unprofitable? Oh god. |

I fully endorse this idea as long as combat players also get a "Lazor 'o Doom" module which has infinite tracking and optimal range. Also, it will have a 1s cycle time, use no capacitor, no ammo, do 10,000,000 per volley, and not trigger CONCORD under any circumstances. |
