What area has the least amount of people?
Im looking at starting up a indy operation and maybe even want to find some lowsec moons for T2 production however everywhere Ive seen so far has no moons and lots of people.
Is there anywhere that I wouldn't run into that problem? |

The in game map can be coloured based on number of pilots in space: World Map Control Panel -> Star Map -> Stars -> Statistics -> Average Pilots in Space in the Last 30 Minutes
In lowsec, you can use the number of ships destroyed in the last 24 hours as a low-quality proxy for population density. Day 0 advice for new players: Day 0 Advice for New Players |

Non-Faction Warfare space is fairly quiet. The southwest lowsec tends to be slow from what I've seen, but I don't do production. Just in terms of population. With the indy re-vamp camping up in the summer, things will change. My twitch stream to help new players: http://www.twitch.tv/biohazrd51

Solitude lowsec is accurately named. Set the universe on fire - then sell the survivors ash. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. If you want to mine in highsec, read www.minerbumping.com. |

you can collapse the map into a 2d overhead version with the map controls. |

Awhile ago I scoped out the Mormelot area for settlement (Moved on since then) and it had a nice number of moons and planets, also had close connections to highsec and a highsec island. |

If you're looking at moons for moon mining, all moons of value would already have been taken. If you're just looking for a research/copy/invent tower, then anywhere that's a few jumps away from a trade hub should have free moons. |

Profitable T2 moons are taken. And if you happened to find a profitable one that is available, it would not be long before a hot drop of capital ships took it from you. Profitable moon goo is the stuff the titan pilots fight for control of, not the stuff of new players.
As for systems without a lot of people, that is also a difficult one.
You are going to want .6 or .5, becuase the belts are much bigger for mining. A station with lots of open manufacturing slots. Possibly a moon that doesn't already have a POS, so you can set one up for research and additional manufacturing.
AND, you are going to want it to be near a trade hub, so you don't have to haul your goods a long way to sell them.
AND not already occupied by people that mine out all the belts every day....
Good luck with that. |

lol thanks guys
so out of curiosity how is it a lot of the lowsec moons I have looked at had corps of like 5-6 ppl sometimes 10 but MANY had under 20
Yes there were a lot with many player but I did notice a lot without that... and without alliances too
I suppose the individual may have connections with t he bigger alliances, I hadn't thought of that. |

This if it's a valuable moon. For the moons where the mined product doesn't even cover the fuel it may be just a small corp using the moon mining to offset costs of a tower they're already using (reacting, staging, etc)

From what I could see there are moons with platinum and cad and stuff like that in the hands of small corps
Or are those not very good? |

Cadmium: Mining quantity 100/hr. Jita sell price: 10200. So 24 500 000 a day. Large POS fuel requirements: 40 blocks/hour at aprox 15000 per block, 14 400 000. So mining cadmim - 10 million ISK a day if the POS is used for nothing else.
Platinum: Mining quantity 100/hr. Jita sell price: 4200. So 10 000 000 a day. Given the above fuel, a tower just used to mine platinum costs 4.4 million a day
Gets more complex to calculate when there are multiple minerals being mined or there are simple and/or complex reactions as well. |
