TL;DR: Pay more attention to the metagame.

A little sabre rattling, a little amusement at the expense of others ... so none really.
People are risk averse. People don't want challenge. That's why there are corps, alliances and coalitions. The greater the numbers, the less risk there is. |

The point of it was to provide entertainment for the gankers.
It's a pvp game that involves blowing up spaceships, people need to be entertained. Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction... |

I remember seeing a quote from one the organizers of Burn Jita awhile back. I think he said "we don't want to ruin THE game, we just want to ruin YOUR game" (I might not be exact). So apparently the point of Burn Jita is to ruin the game experience for you. |

OK go for it. Expect highsec fleets to be full of goon alts either shooting their friends or dropping fleet to cyno in your doom. Honestly, the people who get grrrgewnz mad don't even realise they are accidentally becoming roleplayers.

If "You" means someone dumb enough to stuff everything they own into a freighter and pilot it into Jita in the middle of a widely publicized murdering spree, even going so far as to fly past warning signs erected in-game by good samaritans, then yes. In general, the quote is meant to clarify that, while yes, we Goons are shameless griefers and proudly vindictive, our antipathy is directed at other players and not the health of the game as a whole.
Also, you know nothing about Nullsec if you think leading a pile of random hiseccers into Deklein is going to have any meaningful effect. Our ratters are already harassed constantly, sov objectives are giant piles of EHP and timers that take days at a minimum to actually flip or destroy, and bringing out an unorganized mob is just going to get them dunked by the first Bloc FC to get a ping out. If you think you can somehow round up a general Hisec army without anyone noticing it then you know even less than the typical rumor-monger. |

RAIN Arthie wrote:We all know the number game really makes the difference (how many people in fleet) in weather a loss or success. So take PL, Dreddit, the Russians, and anyone who is willing to throw down to meet up. Cyno chain ect. The GÇ£militiaGÇ¥ arrives at top secret date/ time. Militia flies up to the goon home area and starts bashing. The goons toss together their very effective tengu/ shiny death contraption fleet and go to work. When they deploy said fleet they will target those trying to take sov. Now the mission is not to take anything, the mission IS to break things. So letGÇÖs say we GÇ£militiaGÇ¥ take down some POSGÇÖs and a station, catch a few of their miners in a belt. The hive will swarm and come to life. Now I doubt that the militia will last long but I believe it will shake the hive to where the game may become interesting again. I foresee epic amounts of butt hurt and tears. All out wars and will possibly stoke the fires of change. So before you speak think of all the possibilities first. The activate mouth launcher.
I'm going to take a risk and address this at face value. What you are saying is very far removed from reality. If you haven't interacted with large fleets, Sovereignty Warfare, or Nullsec Politics in general, then it's understandable, so I will unpack this slowly.
IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT NULLSEC YOU DON'T NEED TO READ THIS STOP NOW
First of all is the perception that Nullsec homelands are safe or risk free or that our ratters and miners are unaccustomed to people trying to kill them. Our ratting space is probably the best place in the game to go hunting for idiots and there is a fairly long list of people excited to shoot at us, so working around hostile activity is just a fact of life for people who make their living in Null. When someone lose an expensive ship, we generally laugh at them for being dumb.
Actually destroying structures is a much more ambitious feat than you anticipate. The quickest and easiest would be destroying a POS, but even that means taking out a fleet, successfully knocking it into reinforcement, and then waiting a day and a half to come back and finish the job, keeping in mind that the CFC has thus had a day and a half advance notice to prepare a response. Sovereignty in general, and especially stations, is an even crueler beast. To even begin attacking the ownership of a system, you need to move large pieces of hardware called Sovereignty Blockade Units into place and keep them protected for eight hours while they are deployed. Only then can you begin the actual work for grinding down the Sov, which includes two reinforcement timers at a minimum. A Station system generally takes a week to take over completely uncontested, and if the defenders win a single battle then the attackers have to start again from the beginning.
Your picture of the militia is also divorced from the actual reality of Nullsec politics. While "Goons vs EVE" is a popular picture, it's not what the game really looks like. The Russians are recovering from losing a major war and are generally aligned with us, Pandemic Legion has longstanding non-aggression treaties with us and no particular will to see us destroyed or tempt our retribution, and the people who actually would consider us mortal enemies are not currently in a position to invade us and will not be until a major change occurs in the nullsec landscape. None of them would be willing to throw a major stake in behind what was essentially a Children's Crusade, though a somewhat organized venture could probably get them to lend Fleet Commanders and support fleets that they would not expect to provoke a retaliation. We probably wouldn't mind of some Pandemic Legion FC was masochistic enough to try to lead that particular herd of cats or if N322.5 showed up in Ishtars to join in the fun, but they know what would happen if they dropped Dreadnaughts on a station or something.
Numbers are a significant factor in large-scale combat, but they are not the sole or even necessarily prime determinant of a fight. A well organized gang can defeat kitchen sinks several times its size, and our strength is not numbers alone, but our ability to organize those numbers into an effective fighting force. That comes from internal logistics departments making sure the necessarily materiel is where it needs to be, reimbursement teams making sure that the pilot who loses a ship in battle can bring the same thing to the next fleet throughout an entire campaign, well-designed fleet doctrines crafted by experienced players that find a way for everyone to be useful all the way down to the newbie who can only fly a T1 fitted T1 cruiser, and with the fleets themselves led by Commanders with years of experience organizing large groups of fairly dumb players and managing complicated situations under the pressure of hostile action.
TL;DR: Attacking our ownership of our space or our sense of wellbeing would require a prolonged, dedicated deployment far beyond what we have any reason to expect from a mob of hiseccers operating on their own dime, and nobody else is going to come do all of your heavy lifting for you. Even if you could successfully get a Hisec fleet to come try to invade us or something, it would probably only result in one battle and it would be a massively one-sided stomp. |

Real TLDR... Goons are rich beyond most high seccers belief. More isk than you can imagine passes through their economy generating almost endless piles of ships for them to burn. Most High sec pilots do not have the resources to even start to try, most being the far more casual type player that simply doesn't play enough to amass that kind of depth of resource.
