To get it out of the way: No, I'm not referring to what shows up in the "show info" window on drones either in space or in my bay. I'm talking about actual damage being done by the drones to a target in space.
A couple of times in the last two days, I've noticed Bouncer Is launched from my Vexor Navy Issue doing significantly less than expected damage. In one case during Angel Extravaganza (level 3), the drones were doing very little damage compared to how much damage they'd done in the same mission only a couple hours earlier.
As an example, here is a volley of the drones doing the expected amount of damage to one of the structures in Angel Extravaganza earlier:

Two hours later, I ran the same mission in the same exact ship. However, the drones are now doing significantly less damage: [ 2014.04.29 08:41:05 ] (combat) 60 to Casino - Bouncer I - Hits [ 2014.04.29 08:41:05 ] (combat) 97 to Casino - Bouncer I - Smashes [ 2014.04.29 08:41:05 ] (combat) 68 to Casino - Bouncer I - Hits [ 2014.04.29 08:41:05 ] (combat) 85 to Casino - Bouncer I - Penetrates [ 2014.04.29 08:41:05 ] (combat) 85 to Casino - Bouncer I - Penetrates
Whereas in the earlier run, the lowest damage was a 210 "grazing" shot, in the second run the highest damage was two 85 "penetrating" shots.
The other drones (mediums/lights) that I had in the bay at the time were doing the expected amount of damage, and were significantly outdamaging these broken sentries.
I tried various things to fix the issue, including recalling/redeploying drones, docking up and coming back to the mission, but the only thing that worked was closing the game client (while docked in a station) and logging back in. After that, drone damage was as expected.
I encountered the same thing again today, and the same fix worked once again.
Are there any known issues around this sort of thing? FWIW, I've never seen this (or at least, never realized it) on a Rattlesnake on another character. The workaround is easy enough, but my concern is that I won't always be in a good position to relog when the issue hits.
If there are any logs or tests I can help with to help track down this issue, I will happily do so. I don't know exactly what steps caused it, other than that running level 3 missions in a Vexor Navy Issue has now hit the issue twice in two days. |

Actually, just had the same issue with Bouncer IIs on my Rattlesnake on another character. Very annoying. Maybe an issue with Bouncers specifically? |

And just had the issue with Garde Is on this character in the VNI.
Only thing all of these had in common is that I swapped the drones into the bay to replace something else while I was in station--dragged the other set of sentries out of the bay, dragged the new set in, and the new set ends up doing almost no damage. |

Just had the same problem while i was testing my Gecko's, suddenly they got out damaged by the Vespa II i did pair them with.
And indeed it happened after i did switch drones in my bay for different types besides the gecko |

Just had this happen again with Wardens, after switching them in my bay.
So, it apparently doesn't happen every time drones are switched, but it's definitely not fixed. |

Also, I just had this happen again. This time with Curator IIs that were moved from my cargo hold to my drone bay, although I think that at some point during this session I they were moved from my station hangar to my cargo hold.
Relogging fixed the issue, as expected.
This is really quite bad when it happens. Fortunately I've never been in a position that I wouldn't be able to relog to fix it, but it's certainly possible that it could happen. Would be rather bad to engage someone in PvP only to discover that one's drones aren't doing the damage they're supposed to. |

Filed one as well, had it happen this morning with Garde I's, of which 1 was dealing full damage, and 4 were dealing reduced damage. I remember swapping out 4 drones from my cargo to drone bay in station earlier in order to get the right damage type, so it seems indeed related to swapping to/from ship inventory/Item hangar/Drone bay |

I also have issues with sentries. Sometimes it's the damage, sometimes it's hitting.
Sometimes it happens, that Wardens with 130km range shooting at a 80km frig with 0m/s transversal won't hit. I noticed this for a while, so I keep extending the period they just doin't hit. I could keep it up to 20 sec with no hit before I lose patience and focus on the NPCs at hand, but once switched to another target and back, they insta-pop the frig they could not hit. 0-hit happens a few times and switching target is always the instant fix. But that means there is an issue there.
Been noticing this since Rubicon, can't remember if it was even earlier. Are you sure your issues aren't elsewhere ?! |
