After all the blogs, what did I miss?
I was assuming that the new Teams would be something to increase efficiency when players work together. A corp full of industrialists (or industrial trained alts) should be able to contribute to a job and get paid for their assistance.
Well, I was mistaken. Teams are groups of NPCs you can hire.
Currently I'm a T2 producer. I use lots of alts to help me get around slot limits and allow me to queue up more jobs to be ready when I next log in.
With the removal of slot limits, one character can log in and start a bajillion copy jobs. Then two days later he can log in and start 20 bajillion invention jobs. Then two hours later he can log in and manufacture 100 bajillion Widget IIs. Once I find the system in which it is most profitable to manufacture Widget IIs, the only limit is how much crap I can haul around. And that is limited by my time in game, and how much I'm willing to pay Red Frog--not my characters.
So, do I let my extra alt accounts lapse, only to resurrect them for a month when I need more POS gunners to repel a war dec? CCP is known for promoting alt accounts. It seems strange that they are making them less useful. |

The slot removal was for stations, not for players I believe. |

You will still be limited to 10 or whatever MFG jobs and S&I Jobs at once per character. Most players will still need alts to keep operating their industry at the same rate. I suppose if you used your alts to put lots of jobs in a copy queue or something, you can let them go, or you can expand your activities and do several fold more production.

Ah, ok. That makes more sense.
Somehow the first time I read the dev blog I interpreted "removing all slots everywhere" to mean character lines as well. This time I see only facility limitations are being lifted, not character limitations.
So thank you.
By the way, I currently use my alts for queueing up invention and manufacturing jobs. In the future, I will need fewer labs and assembly arrays on my POS and my throughput will increase somewhat until it is limited by copying again. But it is not the astronomical increase as I first thought. |

As it stands, all you need is a small tower and one lab.
CCP is considering adding some sort of bonus if the POS has more than one lab, but right now they don't know if it is feasible, or when it will be added.

at least it's not that much of a good idea to put expensive blueprints in a small POS
but yeah, they really need to think a bit more about the role of a POS in the new system GRRR Goons |

Oh good point. Didn't think about that. No longer need my large tower. Just a tiddler with ONE lab. And not even that if the R&D price in my system is very low. So we've gone from "you can't anchor a pos without grinding missions for a month but when you do they're incredibly useful" to "anyone can anchor a POS anywhere they like but there's no point".

Yeah I saw that and immediately thought why wouldn't I just anchor 2 or 3 labs online them. Start all my jobs in one lab get the price quote and pay it then offline the unused labs.
