I was born and raised on a caravan. I grew up learning my trade from the Outriders, merchants and smugglers.
I'm now the Master of that caravan. Pretty good going, even if I do say so myself

Did almost twenty years in the Federal Marines before leaving the service, figured would get down to the quiet life on Intaki doing a lot of fishing, growing and brewing coffee, and running a business, but found out was pod-compatible a coupla years after, and here I am.
I still fish, though.

Technician, born and bred. Made the family proud as I rose through the ranks of one of SuuVe's countless daughter companies, got my name on a few diagnostic tool patents and briefly had a very exciting life as me and my entire division was forcibly relocated to a different company under SuuVe. I never found out how the legal departments dealt with that little military action as I was discovered to be pod compatible and SuuVe paid my way from space stations to actual space.
No dead parents to avenge nor any great tale of drama, I'm afraid. Never been planetside though. Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.

I used to think that - and I still say planetary ecosystems are wasteful of space - but I quite like stretching my legs planetside every now and then. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you slaughter millions." "Only a killer would know that..." |

Why does everyone assume that a creche upbringing is sub-optimal? Many of my happiest memories are of my sibkin and the times we had together growing up. My response was less about the creche, though that is very alien to my own upbringing, but more about being raised as Kameira. |

Oh right. That might be horrible, I'm afraid I have no frame of reference. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you slaughter millions." When I was a baseliner, I hopped around jobs with my wife for a while before taking a steady job on a mobile laboratory. That went up in smoke, quite literally. Really inconvenient for staying alive, according to what happened to my acquaintances and misses.
Also, stellar job on the edit of that one holo series. I had a decent laugh. |

I was a slave to the Casern Family on Thebeka in Ardishapur Domain for most of my life. I was gifted an upper education by my Custodian and permitted to help her manage her business. My family and I were emancipated when I was in my 20's, and my parents used a donation from our lords to move to the Republic. I really didn't want to move and was scared of leaving the Empire.
We got a place on Rens, and I began naturalization courses. I enrolled in the RU's capsuleer program awhile after finishing those. I was able to get a scholarship to pay for most of it, but I had to work evenings and summers to afford the rest. I was really stressed and almost dropped out of the program a few times, though I didn't have as much issue with the proprioception course as the other students did; I found the dep tanks relaxing. I opted out of the euthanization, I thank God that it wasn't a requirement for certification back then like it is now. I'd never have certified if it was, and I'd be stuck with a mountain of debt that I'd never have been able to pay off.
I moved back to the Empire after getting my license. |

In the Kingdom we heard stories about the Kameiras. They were bred for strength and aggressiveness, rigorously trained for combat and indoctrinated into the Faith. It was said that death was the outcome for any Kameira who did not succeed at the trials they faced at different times in their lives, even as children.
I know this marks me as the product of privilege and wealth. My childhood was marked by a lack of freedom, but I never wanted for anything other than freedom. And as I described, the limits on my liberty were mostly illusory. For a Kameira, the lack of freedom is real, even beyond that experienced by most slaves.
But I will defer to Ayallah if she chooses to describe her life in more detail. I have only heard stories. |
