AAAAGH.
anyways, here's all the information i have: im stuck on the splash screen, at exactly this point, indefinitely. i DID clear the cache, and all that happened was that it took slightly longer to get to this point. this game has been playable yesterday, before and after the patch. the problem only started today, for no discernable reason. EVE also does not work on the other computer in this house, which also used to be able to play the game yesterday.
i looked up and found this support article and followed all the steps. i do the 'telnet' command like it says and the result is nothing like what one would expect. This image shows what happens. After the second screen comes up, the cmd screen becomes unusable and i can't type any more commands into it, i have to close and reopen.
this is the results of the tracert that i ran because the article suggested it. ---------

The same **** is happening to me. I had a GM move me to a station, which worked, but then i undocked and CTD'd. The game worked yesterday. Not today.

I tried redownloading the eve client. TWICE. both times it said it was corrupted. The computer im using is a fresh install of windows, brand new computer too. And my skill training for my main account finished a couple hours ago.
i can still access the game from a friend's house who has the same ISP and is located 30 minutes from my house. but its late, and im not going to go back there just to switch my skills ---------

Edited by: mazzilliu on 26/05/2006 19:37:10 bump because nothing is helping...
i ran the spyware detector, the GM had me run pingplotter. i checked the logs in my router and it says nothing is blocked. i redownloaded the eve client 3 times. I had to do it 3 times because the first 2 were corrupt, and even after reinstalling the good version it still doesn't work.
i still see this screen forever. ---------

Edited by: Consus on 26/05/2006 21:50:43 :O I just got EXACTLY the same problem as you just after the server was rebooted! I was flying out in the open in midwarp. When the server was meant to be back up I got the log in problem you have ans it won't fix :(
I even get the same telnet response... this is strange

omg... tell me if you get it to work at all later. I've tried everything, scanning my system for spyware, viruses, checked the firewalls, all are clean or show no sign of being associated with this problem. i am at the end of my rope
edit: so far all ive gotten from the GMs were automated responces... grr. i wish there was some sort of button you could check saying 'YES ive done everything listed on the site and im not a total idiot'. I ran the pingplotter program the GM wanted, but thats the same as the tracert that i ran in the original post. ---------

How exactly did it go wrong to start with? Disconnect?

the last time i got it to work was 2 nights ago, i bought a raven and logged off for the night. Then the next morning i tried to log in and i got this problem.
nothing changed with the computer, or my ISP, or router and modem and i've already checked all of it. ---------

Hmm then I'm wrong about what i thought. I thought it was a memory bug or something from me getting disconnected at a bad time... but I guess not. If you properly logged off then I really don't have any clues to the problem :(
Oh yeah and you say you got it to work... you mean you had the problem before it was working?

Edited by: mazzilliu on 26/05/2006 23:28:43 no problem at all before my problem started. I logged off fine. And even now there isn't much problem with my computer, except that the eve client freezes at that point, _EVERY_TIME_ i log in. it started without warning, and i can't even get into the game at all. I have to go to a friend's house to change skills.
And that screwy telnet responce, perhaps someone with more knowledge of the server than i do would know what that means ---------
