Well since ISD have said that Logitech G-15 keyboards are legal in EVE, anybody want to share their setups abit ?.
I can start with that I got 3 types on my setup.
1) Raven, it got G-1 that fires all 6 missiles at once, G-2 fires secondary weapons and G-3 third weapons or Nos whatever I choose to have there. Then I got a button for Shieldbooster and one to turn on all shield hardners.
Since I from time to time need to make a chain of missiles (4-5 sec. apart) I got one button to do that as well, also one button to reload all missiles and turrets.
Bottom buttons I got two dedicated buttons to turn of turret effects and one for turning off all effects. These is on all 3 setups I got for G-15 keyboard.
Second setup: Nightmare Well basically alot the same, one for turning on armor repper and such you know the deal , but here for the weapons I got 4 launchers so they can fire all at once or in chain if needed, and same with my lasers.
Third setup: Scorpion Well I am a newbie on EW but apart from the weapons I got it to either use all jammers at once, or 2 and 2... depends on who and what I am going to try and jam, but as said I am a newbie on EW so don't know what to do with these right
Messy post but hey, it tells alittle of the use I got with this fantastic keyboard... have shared the setup file with a friend of mine who also use same keyboard and especially for the raven that is the one he needed.
Quite easy to swap between the 3 setups too incase you are using two accounts on same computer too.

Can I use this KB to change ammo types in turrets and the such? So it would selectively go through each turrent and change from a normal ammo to a T2 ammo or something?

Wow, that keyboard is... welll... Hell, I don't know -what- that keyboard is. I thought, "oooh, sounds like a cool piece of kit" and then had to quaff Gaviscon after the reflex action on seeing the word, "macro" in the product description.
Yet... omg, for ratting that'd be epic!
Yeah, sorry for not contributing anything here...

I use a Sidewinder Stretigic Commander :P Up to 72 Hotkeys resting just under my fingertips

I wouldn't mind the functionality of that KB, the only problem is, I bought a comfort curve KB from MS a while ago. Its not split like the natural but it's got a slight curve on the keys setup. I love it and I don't think I could go back to a straigh setup.
Pity

I have a G15, but I don't actually use any of the buttons on the side, I have my Nostromo N52 for that. What I am looking for is anyone who has an EVE setup for the LCD display.

I think support has to be added into the game.
I did try parsing the logfiles to do stuff like display my highest wrecking (yeah, yeah I know ) but they dont appear to be updated in realtime, so right now its showing my current mp3 in winamp :) |

There is a way to get the LCD display to show a frame rate history graph. No idea how though. --------

Edited by: Alex Harumichi on 26/05/2006 16:52:51 It's a good keyboard, I have one and like it.
I don't actually use the programmable keys much except to move hard-on-the-fingers combos like Alt-Fn to a single key, and stuff like that. I suppose you could always program more complicated sequences, but with game lag and all I suspect that would backfire pretty often. I prefer to keep it simple.
To the people worried about the "macro" word, relax. It's nothing that can create macrominer stuff or anything else that takes input from the game world. It just allows you to do alternate key settings (for stuff you can't move with game keyboard settings) and to automate key press sequences and possible delays between them. Handy, but nothing spectacular or eula-breaking. So yeah, you can place F1 F2 F3 F4 behind a single key. Whopee.
One of the most useful things on it is actually the LCD screen. While EVE as such doesn't (yet) support the keyboard directly, there's a Teamspeak plugin availble that's very handy. Allows you to see who is speaking etc, without a dual monitor or small windowed setup.
And hey, it has a nice feel, much better than normal Logitech keyboards imho. Recommended.

Fraps will give you this information on the g15 screen, is that what you are thinking of?
What I'd love to see is an evemon plugin for the g15. Get current training time, next skill in plan, etc on the display. Merge it in with the ore price thing it has and whatnot so you can keep an eye on things. |

Yes, indeed frap it is, also recommended is LCD Studio 2, which allows complete freedom in creating your own LCD status graphic.

Well. I've been using one for about 6 months now, but only been in eve since Jan of this year. But I use the programable keys ALL the time. Literally.
For those who aren't familiar, it has 18 programable keys on the left grouped into 3 groups of 2x3 keys. they're called Gkeys. The keys can record key strokes, so if the action in game has a key bind you can record it to a key. So instead of hitting CTRL-ALT F1 for something you just hit say G6 and it does the whole CTRL-ALT F1 for you.
G1-G6 I use for my email addresses and my passwords to the game, so I can log in faster :)
G7 G8 G9 are 3 of my mid/low slots. Usually the ones I used the least. G10 is AB/MWD always, so i know where it is. G11 and G12 are the next two mid/low slots I activate the most. I move my modules around on the screen to accomodate this setup with each ship type.
The bottom 6 G keys are for fireing weapons in different setups.
G13 G14 G15 are paired weapons, G13 is weapons 1/2, G14 is weapons 3/4, G15 is weapos 5/6
G16 is fire all weapons, from F1-F6 in one salvoe. Probobly the most used button. G17 and G18 are my available weapons split into two groups. G17 being F1-F4 and G18 being F5-F8. again on each ship I move my weapons around on the tool bar to accomodate this setup.
This makes it very easy to fire anything from all weapons, or split between 2 or 3 targets or each individually with the F1-F9 keys.
I would love to see the damge display outputted to the LCD as this would help cut down on screen clutter, or the current chat channel be out putted there if we minimise the chat tabs.

G7: Reload G8: Map G9: Scanner G10: Stop G11: Slow G12: Faster

I have a G15, used to have some setups, but got a KVM switch to switch it to the other computer and now my MR key doesn't do anything in terms of recording keystrokes. Let me know if anyone else has had this problem. Also, FRAPS doesn't come up on the LCD, I'm wondering if maybe I just need to install the drivers for it on the other computer.

Edited by: Treg Valar on 21/07/2006 13:57:30 I've got the G15 but have never bothered to put key strokes onto the G buttons since I fly more 3 different types of ship regularly with completely different setups.
Game support is not needed for the LCD to show information about the game, but this does help having support for it. I'm not completely sure how it gets information out of the game but some games 3rd party apps are impossible to create for the screen because the game doesn't let the key board "see" the information it needs to display.

IÆve got a G15 also but havenÆt started using it for EVE. I use it extensively in other games/ work though. How would you bind the open cargo or open containers actions? HavenÆt figured that out yet.

First you'd set up the EVE shortcuts (ESC / Shortcuts) to something, then map that key combo to one of your G15 keys.
Really the G15 can't do anything you can't already do with the same. It just saves you a few keystrokes when say firing multiple weapons at once or something. Someone's idea of using a G key instead of CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-E for effects was brilliant! However, it can't load custom ammo or auto target anything like that, it can't do mouse moves or menu picks. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | Visual Building Guide (Both work in game too!) |

You understand that that keyboard is going to cost over 250$ right?
Look at the 3 key mini hotbar, thats like 100$.

Check the keyboyard shortcuts in your options menu (pressing ESC). There you can bind keys to do stuff (lots of unbond in the default configuration) that you can then have your keyboard do.
It's a lot easier to have it bound to G-Keys (espeically when you have a paper thing over your keys where you can write what they do) then remember loads of mult-key shortcuts. --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |

Sort of. Logitech stuck it on but didn't bother trying to write any software or get any support for it.

Edited by: Aeon Yakati on 21/07/2006 18:25:04 Anyone know the name/manufacturer of a similar rightleft-handed gamepad with keys and an analog thumb hat I believe? It's basically the left part of the G-15 but then a device on it's own and it's more egonomically designed.
Edit. It's not the Logitech V250.
