Hey everyone!
This video turned out much longer than I originally intended, since it was originally focused more as a "training" video on it. I gave a table of contents in the description if you don't want to watch the whole thing.
I'm interested to hear if anyone else would find this useful. Suggestions are always welcome.
The application in general is functional, but has its rough edges that I am working to iron out (as some parts of the video will show). I don't honestly like the interface very much, but I made it in such a way that is extremely easy to change the interface...so that will be a future change.
My question to you is: Would you find this useful within your own corporation/alliance? Would you prefer for it to be a service (isk-per-month but its hosted and updated automagically for you with tech support), or as a "you host yourself" package? I'm trying to determine its fate and, hopefully, make some isk if it benefits others. Let me know what you think.
Thanks for watching!

This... looks.. awesome! This is exactly what i have been looking for, for literally years now.
I do have a few suggestions that would definitely make this application even better:
Coupons:
- Make it possible to set coupons to your own corporation, or alliance. Right now it seems that everyone who has a coupon has the ability to use it, even if you don't want them to use it.
- Allow coupons to be used only at a certain region or station.
- Allow coupons to be used only if a certain volume or price has been met.
- Allow coupons to be loaded automatically, for example if you want your own corp or allaince to get a discount at all times
Loot Buyback
- Make it possible to set different percentage ranges for different types of items. For example 15% for ores, 10% for salvage materials, and so on.
- Make it possible to set a maximum amount of either items, volume or isk value that people can put in the loot buyback per single contract to the people who want to buy loot.
- Make it possible for people who buy back loot to set a limit to the amount of items, volume, or isk value that they want to buy back. This way you don't wake up one morning and see 20 contracts waiting to be accepted worth more than your isk wallet currently has.
- Maybe its an idea to show the refined minerals you get from the items that can be refined, if that is your intention with the loot. And also show with for example different colors or a separate tab what would be more profitable, selling the items or refining them into minerals.
- Allow loot buyback contracts only from certain stations.
- Allow contracts to corporation besides individual players.
Also, it seems one important aspect from your EveMarket application is missing right now: an asset manager. I for example try to keep a certain amount of items or ships at a staging system in my own hangar in case they are needed quickly. I either buy them at a certain price in Jita, or i manufacture them myself. But since the price of certain items can change over time i cannot rely on the most recent Jita price for knowing if ill make a profit or not. What would be helpful in those cases is a way to save for a certain amount of items the price. So we can compare that price to the current price in jita at the moment.
Anyway, i guess this is enough talking from me for the moment. Keep up the good work, and let me know if you need any beta testers! Ill gladly help out if i can :)
Also one more thing, i would definitely like to host this myself. Just so i have control over what happends, and we ill know for sure that ill be able to make use of it for many years to come :) I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens..... |

I thought of a few new features this application could really benefit from after re-watching the video a second time.
Would it be possible to have something similar to what for example eBay has? What i mean with that is the following:
- A shop within the application that can be administrated by either one person, or a corporation.
- The admin of that shop (not the same as the admin of the site) will be in complete control of what he could sell within the game.
- The admin can keep a list of items he has in stock and can decide whether or not people who visit his shop can see how many of those items he currently has in stock. Also when the quantity of a certain item is below a certain number, he could get a message saying that he needs to restock on that particular item.
- Costumers can evaluate their seller and give a rating to their suppliier and a small description if they want to.
For example: Great seller! Delivered within 6 hours after placing order! A+++
I know that some people would like to check the price of the items themselves. Would it be possible to add a feature that combines all the items you want to purchase in an order to a single textbox? From there people can copy-paste the items into for example evepraisal, or eve-marketdata and check the current price of those items themselves. Or, what would be even better is if the application somehow automatically used copy-paste to evepraisal and gives you a permalink to the evepraisal site. Since evepraisal is opensource you could install a version of it within the application and use evepraisal that way, if using the original evepraisal website tends to be too difficult or impossible to program in. I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens..... |

Dunpeal, those are some great suggestions, and I am definitely going to dive into those deeper and get some BitBucket issues added to keep those on the roadmap. Once I identify which I want to pursue more, I will let you know! Thanks for the great suggestions!
As its obvious that the demand is fairly high, I'm now looking for test enviroments for an alliance that would want to try to use it and provide feedback to me about possible enhancements and bug fixes.
My only requirement is that you would need to actively use it (with more than 10 people actively making orders) and you would have to notify me of any enhancements or bugs that you find. I would set up the environment for you, and it would be constantly updated and upgraded to the latest versions for you to keep using. URL would be "something.raikia.com".
If anyone is interested in doing this, please evemail me in-game (Raikia Nardieu). There is some data I need to get from you to set it up properly the first time.
For now, it is closed source and I will be hosting the environment myself. If this doesn't sound good to you, then don't take part in my test environment. Once the code is to a point where I want to release it, it will be released in hopes of some |

Great to see that the test website is working again! I tested it out today and noticed a few things that could also be improved upon.
For example, when you purchase items for a contract, i noticed that you can only set the initial price once. For small stuff like modules and ammunition that doesnt really matter much for the price, especially if you buy everything in Jita. But if you buy for example 20 battleships for your alliance or corp there could be a small up to a to substantial price difference even in jita, but especially at on of the other smaller trade hubs in empire space. what would be better is if you had the ability choose between one price, and the ability to set the price for a certain amount of items. That way if you buy a lot of expensive items and the person you are buying it for has a coupon for 0% increase you will not risk loosing isk on the contract.
Also again if you want to buy something in a large quantity someway to show exactly how much quantity you are buying would be helpful. Right now its a little hard to see if for example you want to buy 10 million units of tritanium if you put in the correct amount of zeros. Maybe its an idea to add buttons that say 1000 units, 10.000 units 1.000.000 units and so on. That would make it more easy to correctly put in the right amount of units.
Its too bad you are not considering making this open source right from the start i have to say. It will be difficult if not impossible to find a major alliance who is willing to use this application if they cannot see the source code and be confident in the knowledge that their information will not be transmitted from this application directly to their enemies. In eve spies are everywhere.... I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens..... |

I've translated a lot of your points into BitBucket issues so I can keep track of them more easily: https://bitbucket.org/raikia/alliance-market-v2/issues?status=new&status=open
For right now, I do only let you set the price of an item once. There is the condition (similar to the one you described) where, say, I need to by 10 Dominixes. 5 are sold for 200,000,000 isk, and 5 are sold for 215,000,000. Theoretically, I should be able to say I bought 5 for one price, and 5 for another...but for now, its set so you would say you bought 10 for the higher price. This may be changed in the future, but there are a lot of other higher priority things to add aside from this. Good eye though.

I don't really understand what you mean. Everywhere it tells you what the buy, the item quantity is clearly formatted with commas, and everywhere you type in a price, it gives you a "preview" of how many 0s you have typed in. What "buttons" are you talking about adding? What page and for what purpose?
I am holding this project close to the chest for now before I figure out what I want to do with it. I initially made it for myself anyway, and never planned to have anyone else use it. I now have 5 semi-large to large entities testing it for me in their own environments, so more bugs may be found and I can focus development on more demanded items. It will probably be open sourced later, but not now. |

Considering its been 4 months since Raikia Nardieu his last post in this topic, the fact that the bikbucket bug tracking website has not been updated in 4 months, and the lack of interest on the forum about this application i take it this application can be considered vaporware?
Unless Raikia Nardieu can give us an update off course, and the program is still in closed beta. But i doubt that.... I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens..... |

Once again a great idea and start of a project dies with out a sound probably do to the original programer having something unexpected come up in RL. I think I'll try to make a new version. If the original author gives any sign of life, we'll see how to proceed from there. If not, I'm going to make it open source and, probably, give hosting options as well. http://evernus.com - the ultimate multiplatform-áEVE trade tool http://tradeadvisor.evernus.com - find what to trade anywhere |

Awesome to see that this project gets picked up again!
Pete Butcher, maybe its better if you make a seperate topic for that. Otherwise people might think looking at the first post and links in there that this application is still dead.
And hosting options is definitely the way to go. But please, since this project is still in an early stage, you should choose your framework on which you build your application wisely! I have seen too many applications where installing a new site, or upgrading to a new version became such a clusterfuck that i gave up on it after spending hours through config files, databases and error logs.... I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens..... |
