How is it techell corp gets on the news blotter? Sounds to me like favorites are being played again. Doesnt this give full implication that CCP is giving free advertisement to a player corporation? Sounds like the bounds between game mediators and game involvement.
This is more horse****.. does every corporation get free advertisement as well? JOBS - Got Moin?

These are the player reporters. You could have been accepted into the reporter thing. If you'd have tried.
These aren't Polaris members, btw.

Seems like they covered the issue pretty well; at least they're taking notice of our concerns. Why the hell are you so upset?
Do you think there are people in the game who DON'T know who Techell is? Advertisement? Yah right.
People find a reason to ***** about everything.

The series of stickies that have been on the top of this forum for, ohh, three weeks?
The one that is supposed to be a compromise between relatively unbiased news and The Scope, only w/o the Polaris involvement?
Y'know?
No?

Then read the dev blog, patch updates and patch review forums, genius.
The news reporters are for reporting on in-character, in-game events, not bugs and problems in the game.
Now go away and find something else to ***** about before you embarass yourself further.

AAARRRGGGHHH. We've just spotted one of the EVE players who are trying to stop news services. *********Censored flaming**********
Providing news of what happens in the player driven part of EVE brings the game to life. Be jealous if you want, but EVE NEEDS this.

I am not at all against any of that people. There is no reporters name attached to that message that i can see. nor anything about reported by etc... what am i supposed to think? besides why not just pay a reporter to right a story about your corporation, highest bidder wins... corruption prevails.. Techell corporation is not a part of the eve storyline.... All this does is create animosity where there wasnt any before.. I already see the debates on the prices they are trying to get in mega for the MII's and there isnt jealousy morons because im not a manufacturing corporation.... I speak for the small corps trying to break out and the ever present system by CCP to play favorites.

That is not advertising...
If anything that is exposure of one corp that just raised it prices on the rarest item in the game...
If someone should be ****ed, it should be the corp in question...

Awww, now lets be fair, we don't want to give anyone "free advertising" so here's a news story written about in-game events that doesn't mention any corporations:
Today something happened in EVE. Tommorow similar things may happen; or possibly not.

No, this is a question that came to mind as soon as i saw the news, im not anti-techell, they r great supplier of ships and miner 2's. I know alot of ppl who have bought off them and are very happy. BUT they shouldt be entitled to free eve-wide advertisment. Its not fair on other corps. If there are advertisment slots avaible on the billboards then put them up for auction then if Techell, TTI, n00b corp etc win then thats fair and square.
Not like this free exposure.

Look at the bottom of the article. Or didn't you bother to read that far?
Quote: Techell corporation is not a part of the eve storyline
Actually they are part of the EVE storyline. Not all of EVE is going to be written by the developers - the PLAYERS are part of the story too. Player run corporations are just as much a part of the ongoing EVE storyline as the "fiction" written by the developers. If you can't deal with the fact that Techell is a major corporation involved in a very big controversy right now, well then that's tough for you.

Unicode how do you expect the player-reporters to report on in-game events without mentioning major corporations or the things they are doing in EVE?
The story was not an advertisement, it was an unbiased REPORT about the debate which went on in the forums today.
Fact is Techell is at the forefront of major events in the EVE unvierse right now, and the reporter was simply bringing people up to date. Nowhere in the article did I see "buy from Techell" or "join Techell."

Edited by: Discorporation on 23/09/2003 23:21:33 Okay, before this gets out of hand, why dont you people try to make news yourself, then contact one of the reporters and see if he can work with it?
Rather then reacting with instant hostility, why not take advantage of the fact that you finally have a news service that can reach 100% of the playerbase?
Hmm?

Techell r not at the forefront of eve storyline, they have a piece of equipment that IS. I didnt read a general piece of news about ALL miner 2 suppliers, that would have been ok and fair. What we had was 1 corp being mentioned with convenient pricing in the news articles aswell.

Quote: Techell Corporation is widely known for it's investments in advanced mining technology. After acquiring a rare blueprint for the coveted Miner II drilling beam, Techell has become a major player in the Eve market. Their ticker information and corporate description are publicly available via the public infonet.

*sigh* The story isn't about Miner II distributors. It's about the current debate going on in the Forums.
It doesn't matter WHY Techell is at the forefront; what matters is they are. All you need to do is read the 8 page debate which is STILL raging right now to see how much of an affect they are having on the EVE community right now.

Ok put it this way, what do other miner 2 supplier feel about techell being touted as the only miner 2 supplier?
