Any 0.0 corporation that chooses not to be a part of a landed alliance (or any alliance for that matter) has a very crippiling defficiency: 300 standings cap.
There's nearly 10,000 different corporations and alliances in this game. If even 1/4 of these are active, and another 1/4 of these are worthy enough to classify as friend of foe, then your average 0.0 corporation CANNOT maintain proper standings.
By not being able to properly classify friend or foe quickly, FREE Explorer has accidently killed friend and been killed by the unlabaled foe too many times.
Therefore, FREE Explorer is forced to form an alliance, costing 1 billion ISK and tying up a character (who thankfully has the HEFTY requirements) to run an alliance - nearly 45 days of training.
While FREE explorer has hte reasources to start an alliance PURELY FOR STANDING REASONS (we DO NOT however, have any idea what to call it ) most other corps dont.
So please, PLEASE CCP, lift corps max standings to 1000.

Corps NEED to be able to set standings to an alliance, and thus every member corp of that alliance. Not to have this ability seems counter-intuitive.

Agreed, it would make life much mroe simple for corporations in 0.0 that aren't in alliances - SO many times I have to ask in the alliance-non alliance channels "is XXXX friend of foe" and by that time, they've warped out, so even if foe, I cant target them.

The cap is in because of a reason in the last standing overhaul, if you have anything more than that it lags your client craptastically, so no, the limit isn't going to get increased.
However, we will be replacing the current alliance standing system with proper standing so you can set corp -> alliance standing.

Nice. That helps us out immensely. We operate in an area where we've got alliances on all sides.

that will help alot for not being shot by ppl who have left the alliance that are labeled as blue for a corp.

yes - this solve 90% of standing setting issue right here... was going to suggest but you beat to it!
problem currently is setting standing for alliance corps, and some alliance, they change all the time. if you don't ride it you gonna have friedly fire or blue enemy!
neither fun... have suffered from both... __ Weirda Assault Ship need 4th Bonus and More! |

well, you could also try changing your policy- only set + standings and shoot anything not blue.

We thought about that, but we are a roaming PVP corp. Sometimes we go down south to camp/raid. Sometimes up north, sometimes...well anywhere that we think we can find people. We think a NBSI policy will do more harm than good. Since we are friendly to a lot of people in the north, and follow their standings pretty close. Friend and foe change frequently.

All blue right?
Yeah, corp->alliance would rock. You think you have it bad having to set for ASCN, there are some allinaces out there with 40-50 corps in them. And I got to set them all!
Oh, and we need to be able to see Corp->Alliance and Alliance->Alliance on the show info. If they show up blue but don't show on the show info, well, it's a bit too late.

Well, that wouldn't work for some people, as they don't shoot neutrals (often ;P).
