I've just been mining and then dumping the ores in a nearby station. I've now amassed quite a bit in terms of ore and ice and I don't know exactly how to transport it to the nearest hub to sell it.
Is there a more efficient way to move ores compared to just loading up a mining barge and then going to the trading hub? I don't want to be a nice, soft, juicy target in a Retriever full of ore/ice. |

You could always use red frog to haul it all to a trade hub for you. http://red-frog.org/jumps.php |

Best way is to refine them in a station, then haul the minerals. They take up much less volume. Make sure you find a station with a 50% base refinery. You character must have the correct skills to to get "zero waste" and have 6.67 reputation with the npc station owner to avoid taxes.
If the volume to move isn't too big (smaller than their maximum) you can just contract the ore to Red Frog. Otherwise, refine it and contract it to save yourself some money. I don't have enough skills or standing yet to make refining profitable. That is why I am hauling the ore itself. |

If it's not urgent, set up a public courier contract. Just make sure that you put the collateral above the value of the ore. Set it at 2 weeks and put a reasonable reward (less than red frog charges). Sooner or later someone with a freighter will be in the area and will be willing to move it for you |

Thanks for that suggestion but I'd like to move it myself for various reasons. |

Then get a Miasmos and tank it/speed-fit it. |

then get a freighter, orca, or whatever industrial has the ore bay (if your race has one - else, get the "generic cargohold" one).
If you can't fly any of those, then you're kind of in a bind.
Courier contract or just sell it from where ever you live ...
Few people buy ore anyway (well, people do, but it doesn't move as quickly as minerals, for example). One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Thanks for this! I can learn to fly it in less than 30 min so I'm doing that now. |
