In about five days i'll have Interceptor skill level 1, i'm quite certain this ship type will be my point of specilization for a very long time ahead and i've contracted the help of a friend to build me two Crow's, one for blowing up while training skills and learning the piloting and one for longer lasting..we hope ^^
I have read the sticky on ship designs but I find it messy filled with arguments etc etc.
I'm looking for help from expirienced Crow pvp pilotes to tell me their builds, why they chooose this build, how they fly it what the pro's con's are and what sort of skills needed for them etc.
I wont be using this for pve at all, i'm a pirate and the uses the ship will see are Solo belt piracy (i'd like to be able to use it for ransoming as big ships as possible, frigates are mostly friendly pirates or newbies so dont worry to much about those).
I know alot of you love those nber ships you have in doc, but given my occupation and its hazards I need a ship one can afford to lose, so lay off the tech II :)
If you disagree on something feel free to say so, but please refrain from two word "u n00b" comments, and yes, I know alot of people tell me I should go for another race, i'll consider this -after- I try Crow so what other ceptors will own it doesnt matter.
Hope you'll be able to help, if I pick the setup YOU help me create i'll wire you a whupping 2.000.000 ISK for some cotton candy and strippers + i'll let you go for free should I ever find myself pirating you (dont worry, you'll probably be the one owning me ^^).
Regards, Kublai

What I find with the crow is that it can eat up frigs as long as you dont face off against an af, which you wont stand a schance against. Fighting small frigs providing you have ok missile skills, keeping them at the end of web range and scrambling range you can kill them pretty nicely ;)
The setup I use substituting t2 items would be
3X standard launchers (named pref)
ab, 20km scrambler and then a named webber
overdrive, balastic control, cap power relay
That should all fit I think, It is perfect for tackling if your enemy has nos - as you can stay out of range and then fire down with bloodclaws or whatever.
If you want a shorter range setup with a higher dps then you could use 3 rocket launchers in the hi and then an mwd as well. Many people use an ab with the crow as it can suffer from cap trouble.
But it is an awesome inty

3 standard launchers 1x mwd, 20k scram, web 3x cpr
Thats my basic setup.
You may need to fit a mapc or two inplace of a cpr but thats not to setup breaking.
Generally you just make sure you stay out of web/nosf range while keeping your scram on. Getting in that close is pretty bad since you normally have to end up warping once they throw a nosf or web on you.
Generally you want to ALWAYS use an mwd. It makes sure we stay at whatever range we want and we get to where we need to be quickly. In a ceptor vs ceptor fight the one with a AB will lose simply because they couldn't dictate range. Also keep your mwd on manual or just get good at turning it on and off. Rarely do I ever need the boost more than once or twice a fight, but you do NEED it that 1-2 times.
The webs there mainly to help you keep your range while letting you keep from turning on the mwd.
A close range setup would be almost identical except for a 7.5k scram inplace of the 20k and I normally take off a cpr for a nano.
If your doing alot of fleet stuff sometimes throwing on a small or micro cap battery can really help if your having issues with going full warps and what not. It also helps alittle if you are getting nosf'd.
Real the main difference you will see in setup is rocket or standard the scram range, and the lows. I prefer cap regen since it lets me keep my tackle running forever and the random boost or two from a mwd really doesn't hurt to bad that way. Some prefer a mild armor tank, others go for bcus. Its really all a matter of preference and what your expecting to do/need to do.

Curious thou, if i'm orbiting a cruiser at 5-10k KM and I get webbed...short kiss goodnight?
I'm very suprised to seeing so many rockets considering their short range, I always imagined a good tactic would be to stay out of webifier range utalizing the speed and small sig radius, considering most pvp ship setups I know about that would pose a serious treath are short range weaponry this made sense, I do love NOS ofcourse (seriously, I have a freaky relationship to nosferaturs, I keep a medium nos under my pillow at night).
What sort of ships could I expect to beat/lose to in setups like mentioned here?
Apart from those worries the skills seem to be easy to aquire from where I am now and should not take very long to use efficiently

It may be worthwhile getting in touch with Slarti in-game - he's been flying the same damned crow for months now and has notched up a load of kills. I can never catch him and his DPS is awesome from the one time I did. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I give up on this sig nonsense. |

Solo: 3xRocket launcher II 1x125mm railgun II 1xMWD 1xScrambler 1xwebber 1xMAPC 1x200mm Steel plates II 1xSAR
Gang: 3xStandard missile launcher II 1x125mm railgun II 1xMWD 1x20k scram 1xcap recharger 1xcap relay 1xnano 1xPDU
basically for solo you want something with a lot of armor and good close range damage, whereas with gangs you want to keep out of range of the enemy but keep them tackled for as long as possible...

For gangs I use very similar setup, I use 1 extra 20km instead of the web. With all the stabs now days being able to put that extra point on fast is very nice. When the rest of the gang get their points on you can stop one of them and keep running 1p + mwd forever. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
