Idea: When in a fleet, the emergency warp location can be assigned (for the whole fleet or just a squad/wing) to a bookmark or celestial object in space, anywhere in the current system.
This idea is mostly a small protection buff for capital ships to enable them to warp to, for example, a POS, but I'm not sure that if needs to be limited to capital ships because it also enables a safe spot to be set up for large battles that may result in substantial emergency warps.
I understand that this would alter what happens when you log back in; specifically, you would no longer return to the location where you logged off, but it's also no different than simply entering warp yourself before you log off.

No because "a small protection buff for capital ships".
Set an ERV as a bookmark and distribute or put it in MotD or if you want an ERV out of a system then cyno up OFC.
How do you see this being executed? By the FC, WC, SC? Fast Character Switching "XP Stylee" Undocking - More Routes Out of Station Here's my tear jar > |_| < Fill 'er up! |

I see this being something the SC, WC, and FC can set for their respective groups. AKA, jump into a system and the FC sets "Bookmark 1" as the emergency warp location. And this setting could persist with the fleet, so jumping out and back doesn't undo it.
I'm not sure how much of a buff it really is... Why should being disconnected be different from warping off and then closing the client? |

ban thread, biomass OP. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Why not expand this idea, and make it a single click command option for all pilots?
Each pilot can select any in-system bookmark as the emergency warp to location. (overview beacon items can be bookmarked, but are of questionable use for this)
Using this mechanic, each system can have a bookmark flagged as the Emergency Warp Destination. Upgrading Local to Eliminate All AFK Influence What if Local Chat changed, Hunting the Cloaked... |

Only thing I can come up with is that OP doesn't know what bookmarks are. Schrodinger's Hot Dropper |

Theres a big difference between right click on screen, avoid the damn popups, scroll through bookmarks, select ,missed it, re scroll, select click, warp to within 50 click off you go
and press preassigned button.
possibly the difference in getting away and getting scrammed and popped.
the idea has merit, the question is does it effect the balance in a negative way?
If the PLAYER has to set it up then good. If it is done for him then no way.
I think that as you need to do the work to preset it, it is simply compensating for poor ergonomic design.
So I would accept losing a few kills, and salute the player for pre preparing an escape option. Others would complain the prey has it too easy and in their day........
So +1 good idea. There is one EvE. Many people. Many lifestyles. WE are EvE |

I believe this idea is specific to the log off warp / log in warp.
At least, I thought like you did, till I reread the OP and read the part about:

I made a thread about a click button to warp that doesn't involve this logging in / out warp function. HERE Upgrading Local to Eliminate All AFK Influence What if Local Chat changed, Hunting the Cloaked... |

In my opinion, the user interface should really not be considered balance. If something it hard just because the UI sucks, fixing the UI doesn't buff that thing, it just makes it easier to use. |

reassigning default game behaviour, yuk!
Correct, "emergency warp" is the thing that happens when the server detects that the client has disconnected. |
