OK, so I do security missions for Sisters of EVE.
The agent is in amarr space, in an amarr station...and she sends me out to kill Amarr NPCs. Each mission lowers my standings with Amarr. If I continue this, eventually my standing will be so low with Amarr that I will not be allowed into Amarr space to access this same agent.
So isnt this setup counterintuitive or am I missing something here?

OK, I don't run Sisters of EvE missions, and so this is a genuine question;
SOE actually give you missions against the Amarr navy?

Not really, if you do a show info on the SoE corp and look at their standings the amarr empire have them set to -1 so it kinda makes sense you might have to shoot them in the face :P
And its pretty simple to just decline the amarr missions its what i do, you can decline 1 mission every 4 hours with any particular agent without penalty, however i tend to find that i get 2 amarr missions back to back so i end up taking a standings hit for declining the second, not the end of the world my standing with that agent is like 9.0 anyway |

So... my minus standings with Amarr means I should expect to be attacked by their navy then.
Sadly, they appear to be on furlough as this does not happen "A naughty sarcastic nun that's come to whip me with a ruler." - Domanique Altares "As Ramona previously mentioned, that is correct." --áISD Supogo |

Don't see a problem with it. Not all the corps in high-sec space should have great relationships with the faction, especially since SOE are spread out a bit. If I'm not mistaken they are also quite powerful and renown in the lore, so despite being allowed in Amarr space the faction itself might not look kindly on those who work for SOE. |

It actually does once your standing gets low enough, there is a difference between a massive entity you want to disrupt and that 1 pod pilot who is a minor annoyance, hence why you need to have a -5 standing to be attacked by their navy in their space |

The Sisters ruined my standings before I realized what was happening. Only accepting missions against pirates or mercs will stop the bleeding, but the damage is done. The Gallente almost hate me. So be it. I almost hate them too. ...end transmission... GÖ¬ They'll always be bloodclaws to me GÖ½ |

You can always run the SoE epic arc and choose Amarr for the Dagan mission to boost your standings with them without negatively affecting your standings with the other empire factions. The SoE arc can be redone every 3 months, IIRC it's circa an 8% boost to the faction you team up with for Dagan.

Diplomacy skill, I think it is, can mitigate that some what. Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.-á-á- William Pitt |

Yes there are ways to mitigate it but eventually its possible that only the standings grind can help you :) |

The thing you are missing Doreen is that SoE faction is allied to the Gallente and faction missions are vs. Amarr
This is true for the Apanake agent, which is the one I assume you are referring to, and used to be true for the Gicodel agent back before the removal of agent divisions and is still true for the Osmon agent. |

Had to train diplomacy to 5 in order to get Thukker to let me work for them. Was living in their space at the time, so why not get standings up. Gods, they hate everyone but Minmatar, sour *******. Running their storyline missions is a great way to make the empires dislike you. Hell, I think even the Minmatar give me strange looks when they see my Thukker standings.
