So I normally don't have good ideas for threads because I really don't have anything to say, but I read a forum post HERE about EVE's growing "No fight" culture and I had an idea I felt was worth talking about and making a thread for.
Don't you think the "No fight" culture is a good thing? Do you not? Why not? I do...let me explain.
In real life we live one Earth and we all coexist quite sloppily but we manage and hustle from day to day, right? It seems to me CCP has gone to EPIC lengths and taken on a truly round-the-clock endeavor creating and maintaining EVE and New Eden. We all coexist quite sloppily in New Eden as well.
Do you wake up every day and walk the streets and pick fights with everyone you see? Of course not lol because not only would you get arrested or killed (New York, Memphis, 'nawlins, ect) but you'd be living a pretty hard and chaotic life. That's normal every day life's "no fight" culture.
So why is it such a big deal in EVE? Why is there an industrial side of EVE? Why is there an economy? Its not like a generic first person shooter game like CoD or Battlefield (or even DUST!) where you can POWER UP! on ammunition and armor and keep on going lol
So why does everyone have such a problem with miners or indy pilots? Every big corp or alliance (Goonswarm?) has miners, they have indy pilots and they manufacture all their own stuff. They even build TITANS and overwhelm fleets with titan floods to kill small corps/alliances.
Without mining, this entire game stops dead. So don't you think you should be praising those who do the industrial aspects of the game? I mean, you don't see yourself at the local grocery store beating the crap out of the butcher or threatening to shoot your local electric company's staff haha
So why does everyone have a problem with the no fight culture? To me that's a COD mindset. I play this game specifically to mine, build, sell, trade and talk with buddies on teamspeak yet I always get a bunch of crap from the e-peeners telling me to fly a real ship and fight them lol I mean, it is hilarious but that's not the point.
So why the hate for the no fight culture in EVE? It doesn't make any sense. |

Nobody has a problem with miners or industrialists, and you didn't really understand the point of the thread you're referring to. "Help, I'm bored with missions!"

Its is a ******** idea to goes that far to one side
Much like that other thread with its equally ******** "Everyone should 1v1 constantly even when utterly outclassed" that you love so much "A naughty sarcastic nun that's come to whip me with a ruler." - Domanique Altares "(Understanding when to fight and when not to) doesn't make the cautious pilot a care bear.... it makes him a winner." - Barbara Nichole |

Actually, its a negative of the other thread, so in one way you are right, and the other you are the opposite of that "A naughty sarcastic nun that's come to whip me with a ruler." - Domanique Altares "(Understanding when to fight and when not to) doesn't make the cautious pilot a care bear.... it makes him a winner." - Barbara Nichole |

Peace is nice -- but somewhat on the boring side. The game is so much more 'interesting' when there is some real 'threat' on the horizon.
I wonder who is that 'other' for the Goons? Not a grr goons post, but seriously.

I mean, truly GREAT alliances appreciate their industry-types. Even generously fund and protect them. My time on my alt in an industry corp within AAA was an example of not-so-great choices in regards to industry. The corporation I was in, amazing.
I think the OP thinks there is a disregard for industry -- maybe it stems from negative experiences within corporations?
