I know Kronos is new, and there are likely many bugs, but as of today, it seems that the faction sentries have much higher ehp, and better tracking than the T2 sentries. This may be a bug / mistake in the info dialogs for the sentires.
Structure HP is the same as T1, so T2 is 20% > faction, but armor and shield HP show faction as 2x T2. meaning faction has almost 2x EHP over T2.
Tracking seems to be better for the T2 as well, 5% better than T2, or 26% better than T1.
Finally, the racial drone skills claim to only boost damage for the light, medium, and heavy drones, so not sentries (CCP-Fozzie stated they would apply to sentries in the "giving drones an assist" blog post). This may also be a bug in the skill info dialogs.
The above differences seem to apply to all sentries (Garde, Warden, Curator and Bouncer) in the same way. |

The new "Augumented" drones are indeed better to or equal to T2 drones. Which is pretty much how all faction modules work except turrets/missiles and that is mainly due to T2 ammo and the 2% level for tech 2 guns. I'm talking about sentries, where they are just faction drones, (not Augmented), such as the Federation Navy Garde etc... |

Ahh I got confused. I forgot Sentry drones don't have "Augmented" versions. That awkward moment at the Gentlemen's Club when you see your sister on the stage....and you're not sure where to put the money.... |

I think they are supposed to have the same stats as T2, but not affected by the spec skills.
Meaning a faction sentry should do the same damage as a T2 sentry with racial skill at 0, afaik.
technically, the T2 sentry should do at least 2% more damage than the faction one, because of skills.

That's what I thought, based on CCP-Fozzie's blog post, but it is not the case (according to the skill and sentry info dialogs in the game), which is why I started this thread.
Even if there is a max 10% damage bonus for he T2 over Racials, the approx. double ehp and better tracking allegedly available for the racial sentries means it is not so obviously better to go T2.
Hopefully this is all a mistake in the info dialogs, and they are identical (T2 & Racials) except for the T2 2% damage / racial skill level |

Werent navy sentries having less damage but 2x hp for a long time now?
The dev blog also does not mention navy sentry hp at all, only mentions that navy drones will keep their hp bonus.
Where seems to be the problem? |

Always remember that Faction Sentries get quite a bit better tracking tho, in some situations you might get better applied damage through tracking than raw DPS. (also they are more tanky, it is easier to scoop them in time should someone have the funny idea of shooting your drones) 2013.03.01 13:30:58 notify For participating in the General Discussion Forum Section your trustworthiness has been adjusted by -2.5000.

I double checked my T2 and faction sentry drones yesterday and the damage bonus does apply(I did the same thing 3 minutes ago to double check it again). The idea of the changes is that faction sentry drones become a more useful alternative overall, while before the changes there was hardly any reason to use them once you can use T2.
They always had like twice the EHP and a lot more tracking at expense of a lot of less DPS and range compared to T2 sentry drones. Now it is mainly a bit more dps vs tracking/EHP. 8-10% extra damage is still a huge deal when it comes to sentry drones, especially on drone hulls that stack DDAs and with the new faction DDAs.
Also a big change is that you now see all the real stats of the sentry drones once you have them in the drone bay(all skills applied), so you can easily compare the changes by your skills by looking at the drones in the hangar and in the drone bay. |

Taking the 17 days +/- of training that it takes for the Sentry Drone Interface V into account, I am hard pressed to find any value to the T2 sentrys. I could have been half way to the Ishtar instead. Hard not to see this as a huge slap in the face to anyone who spent SP on SDI V. |

yeah that extra 5% damage sure does suck. i will take your advice and not train lvl 5 anything. Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85 |

There are a few skills I regret training. SDI 5 is not now and, barring further changes, will never be one of them. |
