Edited by: Ryneter on 09/06/2006 14:22:04 requesting a non-pvp server, sick and tired of arses podding me for no reason at all.
especially people with postive security status, should recieve a security hit no matter what section of space they are in, gate camping is the lamest thing ever and something should be done about it.
i like this game but i hate the PVP in it, its a bunch of elitist bastards that just want to ruin your day, it would be much better if they added a server that had no PVP in it so we wouldnt have to deal with these losers. http://home.comcast.net/~rynet/test.jpg |

The Non-PvP server is already established in systems with security rating 0.5 and up while being in an NPC corporation. If you want to get more rewards than what is possible beyond those limits, you have to take some more risks.
Generally, making friends and flying in groups helps, as does knowing how to use the map filters (ships destroyed 1 hour / 24 hours, pods destroyed 1 hour / 24 hours, average pilots in space, ...).
People who do attack you in Empire space (that is anything > 0.0, even 0.04999999) do get a security status hit, unless you messed up and they have kill rights on you or you are criminally flagged with them.

that doesnt stop them on 0.5+ from gate podding you which is rediculios, gate turrets should fire and auto kill/single shot anything that even begins to target a player ship.
0.0 or not you should recieve a security status hit killing another postive status person, this should be implimented cause how is it honorable to have positive security and kill people with positive security for no reason at all. http://home.comcast.net/~rynet/test.jpg |

FYI This is a PVP Game. This is not a PVE game.
Eve is PVP centric with PVE as a small side note, nothing more. This is very centeric to understanding the game.
You can be killed at any time, for any reason, at any place. If you accept this and take reasonable steps your fine.
There will always be cheese balls and twits running around gate camping... Make a few friends and get into real 0.0 :)

Edited by: Ryneter on 09/06/2006 14:30:35 there is quiet alot of people that want nothing to do with PVP, so adding a Non-PVP server would actually make this game alot more attractive. I have fun just ratting, or mining, i dont need and do not want to deal with asshats podding me.
and like i said they need to make it so u take a security status hit even in 0.0, a 4.5 security person just podded me and wont recieve any loss. thats BS http://home.comcast.net/~rynet/test.jpg |

There is no point to a non-pvp server in EVE. To much of the game is built around it, including the entire POS, Outpost, and player station system.
If you dont like PVP, move to another game or accept the fact that you can be killed and deal with it.
There will always be ways for other players to kill you even in 1.0 space. Its just the price they have to pay to do so, and often its well worth it.

barley any of this game is built around PVP, just cause people PVP doesnt made its built just for PVP cause its definitly not, take a game like jumpgate it has POS, and all that stuff and no PVP and its very popular.
the PVP elitist bastards will just be mad about a non-pvp server cause there cattle wont be playing with them anymore they will get bored and leave cause they have no life but to grief other people. http://home.comcast.net/~rynet/test.jpg |

Your more then welcome to keep complaining... But just becomes it doesnĘt match what you want to play doesnĘt mean it doesnĘt exactly match what CCP wants their game to be.
If you want to fight back, ask around as there are lots of fun PVP aspects and good people to deal with, otherwise good luck playing a target in high sec with some cool people and lots of twits. :)

its pretty lame when 6-8 people all with high security gate camp and kill anything they see hell i was in a condor as soon as i warped in targeted and dead. then podded. CCP should impliment security hits even in 0.0, whats the point of security when you can have 5 positive security and kill people with positive security with no security hit. if they want to PVP fine but they should recieve a security hit so they get stuck in 0.0 rather then no hit at all and get all the luxeries of people that play nice. http://home.comcast.net/~rynet/test.jpg |

0.0 is flying into a PvP server. 0.5 and above is flying into an almost PvE server. Venturing into 0.0 is exploring a whole new world of pain that you are experiencing.
Welcome to EvE.
You need to learn more about in-game mechanics before throwing tantrums. 0.0 has no sec hits because you are in a PvP zone. ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

Security rating is suppose to show that you are on a good faction, that you do the right thing.
and by allowing no security hits in 0.0 its a total contridiction of what security is.

No, sec rating is not supposed to show you are good. Be more naive and you will die more. Learn the in-game mechanics. Ppl with low sec hits are ebil piwets or asshats because the do illegal kills in > 0.0 systems. Illegal kills give them sec hits and give victims killrights.
You just dont know the in-game mechanics and your complains are a bit meaningless though. The rules are there much longer before you... ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

There is no security in 0.0. It is the Wild West, the Deapest jungle, call it what you will. You have your wits and your friends, that is it. No police jumping to your aid, no knights in shining armour. In empire, as has been posted, use the map. It is your friens. If 20 ships have been lost in the last hour then do not go in.
CCP have stated that this is a PVP game. There will be no "I am a Woos and cannot handle it" server. Learn to enjoy the pvp aspect. It is not all uber 30 mil sp chars that fight. if you really hate pvp you will ned to stay in the highest areas of empire, and carry nothing of importance or value till you can at least fit a cov ops ship out. -----------------------------------------------

Not saying you are a woos for not liking PVP. saying that you have to accept it as the major part of Eve. Fact!!! did not mean to offend you mate, but unless you realise this then you will be an unhappy camper.
A lot of players do not PVP, but the fact is that it provides most of the market buyers for ships etc. You would be taking all the producers work away from them by placing PVP guys on a separate server. most of the ships in Eve would become useless to a lot of players a they are pvp orientated. -----------------------------------------------

Whats the matter get your arse kicked so much in real life that you log onto a game to get your frustration out on player characters?
Its people like you back in school that got thier arses kicked constantly so went and hid behind a computer trying to grief people that way cause in a real life situation you would become part of the wall.

I am new to Eve as well, jsut activated the account today, and I am also VERY much a PvE type of player.
So far, I am not even sure I will like Eve in the long term. I really like it a lot from what I have seen. Its very unlikely that I will PvP the way so many people in this game seem to enjoy, but at the smae time I don't want a PvE server.
It seems to me that "PvE vs. PvP" is part of the fun, and not part of the problem. Unfortunately, I simply have to assume that this will be true as I get more skills & knowledge of the game.
I see Eve as being a place I can PvE, even at higher levels. Its not that I want to avoid PvP areas, its that I hope that skills & gear exist that let me defend myself, or take an alternate route to avoid an area of conflict.
Those things actually make the game more fun. I want to do missions into 0 security space eventually, but have skills to be able to avoid having to PvP. Stealth, speed, agility types of things. I assume I will be ganged up on, surprised, annoyed, ****ed as hell, energized, ready to quit, screamng at losses, and thrilled at success. Without that, it just would be boring.
The problem is ... do those sorts of skills exist in the game? Is it reasonable to play in PvP areas if only to transport your mission goods through, with some chance of success if you have the right skills/gear combo? My assumption is that unless I am overpowered by someone with much higher skills or numbers of people (in which case death is acceptable), I should have a chance of success.
But, if the game is so heavily balanced toward PvP that you either have to be good at PvP combat to have a chance at success in the higher levels, then I would probably move on.
I don't want a separate PvE server, but rather I hope the game is flexible and balanced enough to let me PvE against PvP opponents. I don't see myself as fighting back, but rather being the mouse that tries to get away. It shouldn't be easy, but it should be fair.

problem is once you get to a certain stage in EVE you are forced to enter low-sec/0.0 sec for missions just to get owned by some player while you try to do missions, i may just go back to jumpgate is almost identical to eve but without PVP. http://home.comcast.net/~rynet/test.jpg |

You can play EVE and never be the agresser in PVP.
Assuming you are not stupid about it, you can totaly avoid or at least reduce your risk of death by another player. You can support and work as a transport in 0.0 very easily. Just make sure you have friends that try to control the local space. :)
1. Know the rules of the game. Dont be a twit and go into 0.0 in an industrial full of billions of isks and expect people not to attack you.
2. Use the tools that are available. The map is insanly usefull and you can avoid most PVP with it.
3. Make friends... and enemies! its a multiplayer game and this will make or break your enjoyment. :)

FYI: You NEVER have to into 0.0 space.
Its just more profitable to do so. :)
You can stay in high sec and get access to almost everything in the game... but you may not earn isks as fast and you may have to pay an arm and a leg for something thats much easier to get in 0.0.
